Kovalev / Ward 2. Before the low blow...
I dont think Ward is a top boxer if im honest. That doesnt mean not a top fighter. Yes Im sure that will come under attack but read the rest. I do however think Ward is an excellent brawler (not boxer) but often feel the brawling is not within what I think the rules are.

I felt Kovalev won against Ward in their first encounter by outboxing Ward.
I felt Kovalev was winning the return, before what looked to me to be a terrible low blow to end the fight, but earlier in the fight there was a time in round 4 where I thought Ward caught Kovalev with an elbow which I think looked intentional (not saying it was or wasnt) and I havent read or heard anyone mention anything about it.

look between 14:24 and 14:32 below

Other examples as to why I think it looked intentional (not saying it was or wasnt)

I dont think Ward is a good boxer. I do think he is a good brawler (which is not boxing) but elbows should not be used and I do wonder how Ward has got away with being able to do that?
For anyone that posts to try and counter trying to make an argument for winning, I would guess is trying to be an apologist for rule bending and as a fan of boxing I do like to see the rules followed

"Good" and Andre Ward just don't seem to go together in my opinion. EFFECTIVE is a better word. He is effective at holding, ducking at the waist, head butting, low blows, getting certain pre fight advantages over his opponents, making sure all his fights are on his home soil, double leg takedown attempts, getting on really good terms with the judges... the list goes on.

Maybe he'll square off against Gvozdyk in the Ukraine with all Ukrainian judges and a EE ref! Just to prove us "HATERS" wrong!

    Lol I know... delusional.

I've thought about this as well. He boxes well from a distance, but he seems more comfortable fighting on the inside and tends to make the momentum of the fight turn to his favor when he does this. When he is hurt or in trouble he also instinctively closes the gap. Kov was clearly outboxing him from long range, but struggled with Ward on the inside, who was superior on the inside. Ward is a great infighter.

The amount of attempted fouls Kovalev had to stuff was very high too when you watch in depth film studies

    Here's a brief one

You're kidding yourself regarding the rematch with Sergey.

I actually feel sorry for Andre more than I do Sergey, because Andre was robbed of a clean victory.

You can say that it was a bad stoppage, but you have to look from Week's perspective. He was bent over taking shots with nothing coming back.

Only the last one was low, and it wasn't a Golota-Bowe type shot, and in my honest opinion, it wasn't an intentional low blow either.

Let's be realistic here: An inch higher and that fight was still getting stopped.

Don't pretend that Andre blatantly fouled him and that's the only reason he won.

    Give him some credit.

He kept his composure and he wasn't intimidated.

Check out what Jacob ''Stitch'' Duran says here. Those billy goat butts to the gut and genital region weren't accidental. Ward knew exactly what he was doing.

So none of the low blows or elbow were intentional. Triple L at his finest
