I don't understand how anyone can disrespect Bernard Hopkins.

I guess what I am saying is he faked how bad he was hurting. A separated should just doesn't hurt that bad. Not enough to act like a crying schoolgirl.

So he exaggerated it. Whatever. It's semantics. The fact is he bitched out of the fight.

For the record, I rank Hopkins in the top 40 of all time.

I'm not pretending to know how much his shoulder hurt. Like I said, maybe he exaggerated and maybe not. I've seen a dude break his ankle just stepping off a curb, so the fact that he only fell four feet doesn't make any difference. Also, what is this "may have" bull****? He furnished a ****ing discharge note from the doctor stating that he had a separated a-c joint. What, did he pay the doctor to lie on the note?

Its simple ,had Hopkins shown some class against Tito and Joe and not cried like a baby against Jones,Joe and Chad than maybe no one would disrespect him !!

 

I have been a huge B-Hop fan for years, but i perfectly understand why people hate him.

For starters the "No white boy will beat me" does not go down well with white people.
His style is very inconsistent, one fight he could be excellent, other fights he resorts to dirty tactics..
Hopkins likes to talk about himself a little too much, it is inspirational and all but also VERY annoying.
His MW resume is terrible.

But Hopkins is still one of the most devoted athletes to every grace the ring, and his technical abilities are excellent

 

I love watching hopkins fight, the guy is brilliant, not every fight though, e.g. the last one and vs calzaghe and winky sucked imo but fights like vs tarver,pascal x2, pavlik,tito are great.

I love that footage. Hopkins is a great example not just for boxers or athletes, but people looking to improve themselves and lead a healthy lifestyle.


People just like to hate on fighters and exaggerate their flaws for their own amusement, I guess.

 

I like Hopkins but let's be real, he admitted to be a racist, he fights dirty, also quitting in his last fight didn't really help his case (although I don't blame him there). Moreover, many people find his style boring which probably contributes to their dislike towards him.
