Mir is one of the biggest Glass Jawed Frauds and Glass Hearted Quitters in the game and I'm far from being a fan in any capacity other than liking to see him get beat up but this performance wasn't really that bad. Mir/Mirko was a ****ing disgrace but this one....meh.
I think White admitted he may have been overly harsh. I think it was the lack of athleticism shown...I tend to think Nelson puts him in a bad mood automatically.
I think there were times where he was running down the clock by pressing Nelson up against the cage. Add that to the Cro Cop fight and I guess that's why he got the criticism He's a changed guy since the Brock and Carwin beat downs. Gone are the limb breaking submissions of the Sylvia fight and the pull off a unlikely sub whilst getting you head caved in of Brock 1. He now fights to cover his weakness and plays it VERY VERY safe Compare 'old' Mir with the guy in his last two fights, and it's not difficult to see why Dana isnt impressed
It wasnt the freak Frank Mir we hope would show up. Nelson was a heavy obsticle and seen as a challange for mir to ktfo. Sure he won and fought relatively well, i would go out and say frank is one of the exciting most overlooked fighters. But he Could definitely of ended that fight impressively and proven his contention once again.
Cigano didn't finish Nelson either. I didn't see him getting whipped on by Dana for that. Nelson is like a lump of cement, no-one should get criticized for not finishing him.
That's all good and troll, but Mir isn't a fraud or a quitter. I agree with you his performance was dire against Crocop though.

He did his homework with the knees to the belly which Nelson couldnt see coming and showed improvement in the striking and clinch work That said, wasnt a typical Frank Mir fight and I do think there were extended periods of stalling and he didnt go for a finish. Which is one thing you'd expect in a Mir fight I think it deserved some criticism when coupled with the Mirko farce, but Dana was a bit harsh
He's both. The guy folds every time he's hit which is indicative of a Glass Jaw and less-than-stellar testicular fortitude. Find one time, other than the first Lesnar fight where the submission was handed to him, where he got beat up and snatched back the win in a come-from-behind rally.
It was obvious from the first round that Mir had Nelson outclassed. Dana wanted him to turn up the heat and finish the fight. Made two main events in a row that Frank fought a safety first type fight and made for an ugly night. As a fighter - a win is a win. George Foreman always said win this one and look good the next time. As a promoter you want your fighters to put on the best fights possible for the crowd.
I thought the same thing when I heard Dana had slated him after the Nelson fight. Yeah, the CC fight was ****ing joke but I thought Mir looked good against Big Country.
