I don't understand why Hopkins wants Calzaghe do badly.

A few subtle changes to close a small gap could have made a difference in the first fight but the not so subtle change of a second fight being in Wales would mean Hopkins would have to do a lot more than the first time for a points victory

Hopkins wants CalZ so bad, because unlike AM, he wants to at least attempt to avenge his loss.

    lmao

I can't even get into the tactical **** on this one.. If you're asking questions like this there's no need. And no point. Looking at the thread even people from the heart of Calzaghe country have a clearer understanding of what's involved.

The better question is; why is Calzaghe so intent on DUCKING Hopkins when it's the only fight that makes sense for either of them at this point - seeing as how there's no better alternatives in terms of what they claim is important to them at this point in their careers. Why is Calzaghe DUCKING the rematch? Their first fight has only turned out to be the most controversial in recent times. That's some "pride" Calzaghe's got.. Eh? Fans of either fighter have their own agendas, fairweather fans don't want to see anything that doesn't involve haymakers and knockdowns, serious boxing fans want to see all stalemates settled. Especially this one.

In case you ever ask me; this is why I can't take you seriously, though I do consider you a good poster and a cool cat, TFFP. I don't pay attention enough to notice if you just do this with fan agenda crap, or with everything, but the facts deserve alot better than you tend to give them on a consistent basis. I'm going to start calling you 'Mr. Fiction' pretty soon. It happens too often.

End of the 7th - but there were a number of heavy shots that rattled Calzaghe - one identical to the one you're thinking of at a different point as well. Joe is so wild sometimes you can't see his legs come out or his body dip without close examination. He was hurt multiple times.

If the 7th round had went 10 more seconds, Calzaghe was flat on his back, a blind man could see that.

I'd imagine it's because he'd like to avenge a loss.

Some guys actually ARE fighters, and want to avenge losses. I had Hopkins winning, as did many others. It was a close fight. A rematch makes sense.

"On ESPN FNF, he clearly stated that Calzaghe was the fight he wanted. He was even willing to go to Wales if the contract was right. "

Because he is one of the most competitive SOBs on the planet.

Go and laugh at your own jokes ****head; no one else will.

Give credit were credit is due you ignorant punk.

The GF has gone way downhill since I joined; a lot of good posters still hanging about, but its tools like this ****er that give the place a bad name throughout the rest of the ESB (Brit, Classic and Lounge - were I would normally hang - they all say the same thing about this place; gone to the dogs); is there some way to clean this place up a bit and get back to intelligent debate on that sport of boxing that most of us love.

Theres your difference. Hopkins is a MAN he'll fight anyone anywhere.
Calzaghe fights who and where he chooses.
Calzaghe dont want a rematch because he knows he got lucky and got a SD win he did not deserve. He's afraid of losing his 0 Chicken Calzaghe :yikes:thumbsup

Increase his punch output and take more risks.

What he atleast showed in the Pavlik fight, is that he has the stamina to do it. I never thought he had that stamina anymore and I think he probably didnt either which is why he has kept such a low output for the last few years.

Like I said it is a risk, but I think if he opens up more he could get a decision win.

The first fight was BORING!!!! He should fight Dawson or revenge the Taylor losses.
