All I see is how Golovkin got exposed by Canelo. Exposed how? He fought an elite prime Canelo who missed weight, lost 4 rounds at most to him and dominated 8 rounds of the fight, he made Canelo miss a lot of shots just like Canelo made Golovkin miss plenty, why does nobody give Golovkin's incredible stamina and chin any credit, his ring generalship, his timing and effective aggression? What I saw was a masterclass from Golovkin and the only thing he could have added was some body work. If anything I am more convinced that GGG is the real deal than I was 4-5 years ago, I had doubts about the fight before, I thought Canelo and his counter punching could be too much for Golovkin but he absolutely proved me wrong.
Plenty are giving him credit. Here is a thread discussing the GGG chin. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...lutely-incredible.593810/page-6#post-18771073
I think the fans are giving GGG tons of credit. The arena thought he won! The facts that Canelos own fans booed him says it all
He did **** all the entire night except get pasted and put on a tough guy routine and beg for more. You came forward, but so what? His shots were missing and pitty pat because he was being decimated to the body. GGG has now been outboxed twice in back to back bouts. I fully expect Alvarez to KO him in their next match...Ward style.
People are forgetting that GGG is touching 36, he is on the decline and it showed but he still looked very good against Canelo who is 26-27 years old and in his absolute prime. Would a younger version of GGG put on a more convincing performance? Sure. In a rematch, i am pretty sure GGG will fight with a different approach and apparently he is one of the few fighters who makes adjustments with every fight.
