I dont usually stick up for British fighters, but since ive joined this site all ive noticed is how badly British fighters are regarded, and the ribbing they take. I dont think British fighter are that good myself TBH, but i do feel the stick they get is over the top, and just plain wrong. This is not to stick up for British fighters, its to even the balance, and to let the American fans on this site realize that people in glass house should not throw stones. Show some respect.:hi:

Its quite ironic imo that the American fans are talking about how chinny the current Brit fighters are when they have........

Feather fisted Rivera,Collazo,Estrada rocking Andre Berto.

Andre Ward being dropped by journeyman like Boone, and being hurt by Kenny Kost.

Dawson being knocked down by Adamek, and being on the verge of being stopped against Johnson

The we have Cunningham.......whom Adamek was boucing off the canvas like a beach ball.

Not to mention Banks who also got hammered by Adamek.

Taylor getting KTFO. I know people will deny he has a bad chin. I dont think he has a bad chin, but the same people think Hatton has a bad chin.

Allen Conyers helping James Kirkland do saturday night fever:lol:

Andre Dirrell down against Rocha, and admitting he was fighting through a fog.

Then we have Kendall Holt getting owned in 1 round.

    :rofl:rofl

He has a point. Some Americans tend to get a bit too excited about the prospect of a dodgy British chin. As the OP has pointed out, many of the same arguments can be made towards US fighters.

Yeah okay. Proof is in the pudding son.

Berto has been rocked numerous times, and he has been down or hurt in the amateurs a couple of times apparently.

    Taylor .............Mistake sorry about that.

That might be the whole point of his post, the fighters he mentioned are no more glass jawed than ricky hatton and other such fighters from the uk.

Could add Pavlik to this also. Down 4 times this early in his career and not faced too many world class opponents. Didn't know which country he was in for a while in the 1st Taylor fight and could easily have been stopped without any arguments.

If Steve Smoger wasn't the referee for Taylor vs Pavlik. Pavlik would be a just another 160lbs contender, because 8 out of 10 referees would of stopped that fight in round 2.

It happens all the time, especially american boxing fans.

My favourite is 'protected Euro fighter'

    or 'stay at home fighters'

When we all know that americans dont like to travel either!

Stay at home Joe is what calaghe was called, but not an eyelid was battered when Chad Dawson VACATED his WBC belt when his mandatory won the purse bid and wanted to fight in his home country.

One rule for some and another for the rest. I pay no attention and appreciate fighters for the skill they show in the ring.

    No they would not have.

Taylor has a fragile Chin. Pavlik knocked him out cold.

I'm sure there must be a board for 'Brits who want to whine about America' somewhere...
