That's fine, but I'm interested in seeing big fights happen, and if they don't happen, I'm interested to know why they're not happening. It's all part of boxing after all.

If they make Joshua Wilder, great. If they don't, someone is at fault. To work out who you need to think about that sort of thing. If it doesn't interest you then you don't have to take part in the conversation to be fair.

 

I think some people on here are a little bit too much into the promoter side of things. To the point where they seem to be fans of the promoter rather than the fighters. That’s my issue with how the topic is discussed.

Well, let's have the cards on the table here. This is yet another boring Hearn conversation isn't it?

I don't care about what promoters do as long as they get good fights made that fans want to see. If it happens that Hearn is doing that then fair enough, he gets credit for it. I personally like the fact that we've had Usyk, Klitschko and Golovkin over here in recent years. I dislike mismatches and paying for PPV all the time and weak undercards full of names v nobodies. He's done this time and again and he gets criticised for it which is fair enough.

But the business aspect is entirely relevant for making Joshua Wilder and as fans everyone suffers if that fails to happen.

 

Hearn is more open about it than anyone, yes. I don’t want to hear him justifying in an interview about how he won’t bend by a few percent because his fighter is the A side and the B side doesn’t deserve this or that. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a viable point he makes and that’s why he’s in that business. I just don’t want to actually hear it. Keep it in the boardroom. Keep the narrative simple ie. ‘Wilder doesn’t want the fight’ instead of ‘Wilder thinks he deserves 45% but he can’t sell PPV’s/tickets and brings nothing financially to the table’.

The money is astronomical...i’m plucking figures out of the air here but what’s the difference between £50m and £60m (if you have already earned more than these amounts)? I can’t personally relate to it mate, so I don’t want to have to listen to it.

Uh, you ain't the one trading your health and time though. So what your opinion about a fighter's lust for perceived glory should be is worth spit.
I would like to see the fighters milking the sh1t out of their fleeting opportunity, something that boxing only offers the very talented few, even today.
