I doubt the corner advice from Mayweather opponents is ever really sound at times

For the longest of times, after every fight and even sparring partners, people always remark that the thing that surprised them about Floyd is that he hits harder than they thought. He's been in the ring with numerous people larger than he is and at points in time in all of these fights, he walks people down. No, he's not like Julian Jackson, KOing people with one punch but people come to respect his power. I think that Manny and Roach are underestimating this fact about Floyd. Keith Thurman is another person that says this currently. What are your thoughts?

I believed that his power was underestimated too until I watched Maidana walk through clean shots 24 straight rounds.

Nobody underestimates nobody in a fight, You dont go into a fight thinking it's gonna be a cakewalk. You prepare for the worse and brace yourself for a mule kick so any punch lesser that will make you grin and boost your confidence.

  5. Floyd has good punching power. Not featherfisted, not concussive.

Mayweather is a stinger, not a bruiser. There's a reason people don't just swarm at him forever, there's a reason not to - first he's hard to hit, second he responds with punches, and he can wobble you. He wobbled De La Hoya a few times, forcing De La Hoya to go from throwing to clinching. He does that with that with just about every fighter he goes against.

There's a reason to not try and blitz Floyd, it's because he can hurt you if you get ****y.

He wobbled Oscar, Ortiz, Cotto, stunned Guerrero a little. I think he can hurt people more if he sits on his punches.

    He is like Rigo.

You get sloppy and out of line he'll punish your ass with sharp hard punches that you are open for or even walking into.

Mayweather is a sharp puncher. He has good form, and does a good job of hiding his punchers. He is no way a big puncher though, never has been. I compare his power to Hopkins. Hopkins hasn't had a KO in over 10 years. However, no one is just walking through his punches. He has good snap on them.

Floyd has not power. He benefits from people walking into his shots, or cheap shoting, or loading up on a helpless foe.
