I emailed Ring Mag Complaining about the Ring P4P List

Ratings are ****ed. They clearly don't care that they're ****ed. Unprofessional response from a 'professional'.

But I agree with some parts.. I hear no mention of Robert being P4P except when people want to complain about the rankings. I don't believe they'll be used to promote his Mayweather fight. And one shouldn't take the Ring ratings so seriously because pretty much all boxing fans will have their own opinion, and it will differ from the Rings.

Well Donaire should still be top 10 p4p and there is no excuse outside of being GBP marketing arm for Guerrero to be in any Top 10 P4P rankings, especially when Rigo isn't even ranked after dominating Donaire and making him look like he wasn't even in the same class.

 

Yup he ended up sounding like a fanboy of pinoys. What a fail.

 

What i dont get is why people get so mad about the rings rankings. Its been dead for years now. as if this just started yesterday. Its been that way since oscar bought it years ago

 

They have been, but I think they've now hit the point where they can never regain any semblance of credibility.

I don't care who's on or off the list personally. My point is simple, JohnAnthony emailed this man with a punk ass tone and irresponsibly shitty logic, and expect to get taken seriously...poor calculation on his part. Had JohnAnthony, or anyone else for that matter, actually presented the legitimate argument for why their list sucks (which is there), perhaps they would have gotten a legitimate response. Based on John's horrible argument the writer took him for a ******, and in turn treated him like a ******, I don't blame him for that. JohnAnthony tried to punk him out, and indirectly insult the man, he gave JohnAnthony an implied "**** you" for his troubles.

 

Well as fan of boxing I care about who is on the P4P list that a great deal of promotors and networks use to give notice of the skill level of certain fighters.

LIke I said the email wasn't mean or disrespectful just a fan/customer expressing a difference of opinion. The professional stance to take is to tell him how the rankings are made and move on. Personally insulting a person and acting like a kid on their personal blog site makes Ring and GBP look unprofessional as hell and in my opinion makes them look the worst for it.

 

Doug is only there by virtue of his Daddy. Dude has done **** all.

 

I actually agree with his reply. P4P rankings are the stupidest thing in all of combat sports. It is pointless.

I think Chael Sonnen likened people who create P4p lists to those kids on a street corner who argue whether Superman or the Incredible Hulk would win in a fight.
