I went to a fight Friday for the first time in many years, and being there reminded me how much I love this sport. It reminded me why I've been following boxing since the age of 6. Seeing those fighters in there...the blood, the sweat, the determination, the crowd...all this renewed my love for a sport I have somewhat lost a taste for, and faith in, in the last year or two... ...my boy won his third pro fight, and after his win, I hugged and congratulated him, and he whispered to me, "that is what we train for." Being that I train side by side with him everyday, and see his drive in the gym, and then to see him pull it off against a much bigger, more experienced opponent, it almost brought a tear to me eye... ...all this bickering we do is getting out of hand. My fighter is better than your fighter, my country is better than yours, my race is better than yours...maybe we should cut all that out and just love the sport. Perhaps with more demand, and less in-fighting amongst fans, a fight like Pacquiao-Mayweather would have - and still may happen, and even if it doesn't, our love for the sport should go on... ...let's remember that "scared" is a word we should seldom use in boxing. Boxing takes more guts than any other sport in this planet. Being a successful fighter takes more dedication than any sport on this planet... ...just a little boxing chicken soup for the soul...:good This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
