Boxing went from one of the top mainstream sport to a fringe sport with a declining fan-base in the US. There will not be an American boxer on the level of ODLH, SRL, Floyd Jr, or Mike Tyson ever again. Yeah...boxing is the same.

Boxing is going nowhere.... as long as man exists people will always want to see them fight.

In the UK its a lot worse. Recent viewing figures for a recent non-PPV card were 3,000. Yes, 3,000.

Boxing was still run by crooks then. Fans didn't have the ability to go back to boxrec in hindsight and nit pick every opponent

So fans nitpicking thru boxrec is the reason too many top guys avoid each other? Good grief..the more you post the more I am convinced you really don't know much about the sport...

Never been worse.....It's evident Corruption is alive and thriving at the moment best way to fix it is for Fan's to call it out when it happens hopefully the Powers that Be will do something about it and Act....I wont hold my Breath though.!!!

No way you believe boxing is better off than the UFC. Other than the pay difference and Dana being a dictator, it’s way more entertaining to watch an entire full UFC numbered event than boxing has had for years. For ****s sake these clowns plan on putting Tank vs Santa Cruz on the same day as a Khabib fight lmao. I pray that this decade they turn it around but with how things are shaping up I’m doubtful.

There was a time when rocky juarez and john duddy were PPV fighters, so no not really. Only reason boxing isn't doing very good right now is because of the pandemic, that and we need crawford to step up the competition.

Im not trying to crap on your post but Boxing has always been this way. One google search on boxing history and you might see that. Google Blinky Palermo, Frankie Carbo and the amount of families who got beaten, or murdered if certain boxers didn’t take a dive or fix a fight.

Jesus boxing’s history is brutal in AND outside the ring. Politics used to mean people getting their knee caps hit with a ball peen hammer. If anything it’s different now...not better but certainly not worse than when fighters made nothing for their entire career, even champions, to end up broke with Parkinson’s at thirty three.

Its far worse today than even in the 50's with the mob & mafia Theyve just been replaced by the State Commissions only difference is they dont have to hide their corruption any more. Some of the decisions judges have made were blatantly criminal. What was done ? Nothing !! The guy that the commission wanted was just given the "win" To the casual sports fan boxing is now rated on a par with Pro wrestling Its purely forentertainment no longer a combat sport . Breaks my heart to see it Ive spent most of my life in and around the sport I loved

best way to fix boxing is for someone super rich to buy up the federations, dissolve them all, then create one federation.
fill the positions with people on a set wage, so that nobody in the federation benefits from incoming revenue (ie. ridiculous 'sanctioning fees').

1 Federation would be a Dream come true for me...to many sanctioning bodies now it's becoming a joke.!!!

Boxing, as we know it, has a shelf life but not because of corruption. Eventually the 'do gooders' will get their way. People are getting softer, way down the track, there won't be many like us around, people who like to watch people get smacked in the face. You only have to listen to the 'hoo haa' that goe's on after the rare hit to the head on a football field these days to know that boxings days are numbered. Yes, I know the 'theres too much money involved, for it to be banned' argument but one day, it's coming, profits or not.
