I too was impressed with Alvarez. Tough SOB. But can he mix it with the top tier welters???? I agree Ranser. Mosley was off. Mayweather was Mayweather (great), but given the way Mosley fought, it plays against Mayweather that he didn't finish Mosley off. I don't believe Mayweather carried Mosley for a second...
Well I think you got an emphatic answer last night. PBF outclassed Mosley and took him to school showing why he is the best fighter in the world bar noneband arguably the greatest of all time. Mosley did very well not to get stopped. He was shocked by Myweathers physical strength who stayed in the pocket a lot making Mosley miss and consistently fearing hurtful combinations right through the middle, and body shots. He made Mosley look an old man. For all those who who say Mayweather cannot deal with adversity you got an explicit answer. He took Mosleys shots very well in round 2 and made the adjustments which frankly those shots would have knoked Pacman out of the ring.
****ing hell atsch He tried, couldn't, stiffened up and got beaten silly. To the people saying that Mayweather wasn't that good, you people don't know what boxing is. That is probably the best I've seen Floyd. Getting rocked badly then dominating, I have no problem with the guy claiming he is the best ever.
U ever thought about the fact that maybe, just maybe (if you have it in you), that Floyd MADE Mosley look old and slow?
I think you disqualified yourself from commentating on others boxing knowledge by insisting Hopkins-Jones II was a good fight.
Thanks Ippy. It took 2.5 bottles of white wine :deadand 6 episodes of 24/7 to build my castle of delusion. The kingdom is in smoky ruins, the generals deserted, the harem has jumped ship and the rabble remnants hide in the mountains and wait for the Pacman.
Not taking anything away from PBF, he is a class above anyone I've seen for a long long time, but I have to agree with Bob Arum (ouch) I just don't find Floyd that scintillating a fighter, from a spectators POV. I know he has the speed & tactical wizardry that has made him so special, but he only does what he has to do. I'm not questioning his status, or the way he fights, but he just doesn't get me jumping out of my seat, if you know what I mean. Something went vitally amiss with Moseley in the 2nd round. I don't know whether he copped a loose one on the beak just prior to him shortening Mayweather up, but he was breathing heavily through his mouth & that continued for the rest of the fight. He seemed sapped. Perhaps it was caused by the long lay-off & torrid preparation for a 38 YO body,, or it may well have been just another short sharp unnoticed punch or jab that has made Floyd what he is. When I get this fight, it wil be interesting just to see that round.
Two legends, even fight- what was there not to like? Certainly alot more interesting than Hopkins beating down Green for twelve rounds would've been.
Ali and Frazier are still at each other in the press. I'd love to see em go at it one more time. Two legends, even fight....
It's simple, Mosley got a rush of adrenaline when he saw that he hurt Mayweather, he got overexcited and Floyd stayed composed. Mosley then believed he could knock Mayweather out and he tensed up, he was focusing on a knockout and lost his head. Round 3 Floyd starts boxing like he should have from the start of the fight and totally dominates, sees everything and lands everything he throws. Meanwhile Mosley has come off his rush and is taking punch after punch to the head while he tries to feint Mayweather into something. Mosley was constantly wasting energy with pointless movement and Floyd didn't react to any of it. Mosley was as fit, as good as he ever was. This wasn't margarito he was facing for ****s sake. Most boxing fans can't even grasp simple concepts like styles make fights.
