I feel bad for Ortiz...

Don't He is "Fighter" it is what they do.
Feel bad for they Guy who has everything to lose Floyd.

All the pressure is on him.

 

Ortiz is going to make a couple milly and introduce himself to a few million people who wouldn't know much about him otherwise.

Even if he gets spanked he will be a big name and will be able to fight a decent paying tuneup or two before fighting another big fight (probably Pacquiao based on past trends).

I wouldn't feel sorry for him. His life is going to change for the better regardless of the outcome.

 

Getting the opportunity of a lifetime and a huge payday? Hell, if he goes in there and even impresses half of the rounds he'll be given accolades and people will subscribe for his future fights.

why feel bad he has the opportunity of a lifetime, if he defeats mayweather it will make him huge, if he loses he can still take on those 140 guys rematch maidana and even berto at 147, and he can become a champ when floyd and pac are gone in a few years. he will also make good money, imagine ortiz beating mayweather and then pac as well, that would make him a huge superstar, you should feel bad for a guy like martinez thats older and cant get any big fights but ortiz has a bright future, this is a excellent chance.

 

Win win for ortiz, now vargas getting smashed by Tito was something to worry about, although mayweather has shown power I don't belive its the type that will damage a fighter, as for hatton his style was bound to get him ktfo sooner or later. Ortiz can be cautious at times.

 

I see where you're coming from but this will not hurt Victor's career. At the end of the day he's still going to be 24 years old and make the most amount of money he ever has.

 

No one can take the Berto win away from him and consider this: Floyd barely lost a minute to two top P4P-ers Mosley and Marquez, so if Vic manages to take off 3 rounds that's will be something to cheer about. But he might do even better. Floyd is coming off a lay-off and wasn't very busy even before while Ortiz is at his absolute best, confidence is sky high and feels very comfortable at 147.

As far as feeling bad for Ortiz, he'd say 'WTF man, this is the fight I wanted and I don't give a crap about internet people trashing me, so cheer up it's gonna be great.'

Dont feel bad, he's a young kid thats going to make millions. If he makes the fight semi-competitive and wins 4 rounds or so thats a victory within itself!

 

also a 147 match with 140 champ amir khan would be a option its very unlikely of course, but it would be crazy for sure.

 

He's getting an opportunity and a payday that 99% of boxers can only dream about.

I have no sympathy for Ortiz, and really doubt he wants any.

 

I think Ortiz stands a great chance. entirely depends on how floyd fights though

I do wish that Ortiz would have gotten 1 or 2 more fights before going up against one of the greatest of our generation, he's still a pup and has much to learn...

With that said, it is a great opportunity tho...

He is still pretty young and there is absolutely no shame in losing to somebody like Floyd.
