**** sake. Roy lacks three things which made him the fighter he was: Stamina/workrate, footspeed and reflex's. Roy will win rounds early on if he trys to throw a lot of punches due to his hand speed. However, he will tire and Calzaghe will take over. Calzaghe will rack up points with Roy on the ropes and win a UD or a ref stoppage due to Roy not firing back.
stopped reading after that. You obviously know nothing of Roy's career, the punchers he's fought and what happened in those fights. There was a great thread yesterday about roy's chin and the myth he was never hit. You = disqualified
Jones knocks Calzaghe out mid rounds ... if Hopkins can catch Calzaghe with a right hand and knock him down ... I know for sure that Jones is stronger and faster than Bernard and if he manages to land a right hand and have it be effective ... Jones will more than likely finish him to get the stoppage.
Knocks out Calzaghe You guys are ****ing insane. How is he knocking out Calzaghe, a guy with a proven chin, when he can't knockout a podgy little welterweight with 2 year lay off, Hanshaw who got mashed by Dirrel a complete novice, and Prince Bum Completely insane.
Roy's legs, stamina and reflexes may be gone, but his power isn't. The man has knocked out natural light heavy's much bigger than joe with proven chins. Let alone the type of body work he can produce. Just ask clinton woods and Virgil hill -- he broke their ribs with a single punch. I don't think roy will win this fight, but discredit his chance to hurt calzaghe is a bit daft.
Jones will knock Calzaghe out with a flush right hand ... Calzaghe is going to walk into something fearce ... I feel bad for Joe under estimating Roy ... I feel bad for Dan Rafael ... TFFP ... and all of Calzaghe's supporters.
You're probably the first person to asser that Roy's power is gone. We all know that's the last thing to go. If it wasn't, george foreman wouldn't have held a belt in his forties.
No need to feel sorry. Just take a ban bet with me, that Joe gets knocked out, and we'll have your ass off the forum.
:tired I know, these fools make me laugh. Like there is a precedent for Joe being knocked out, like there is a precedent for him being on ***** street. I only saw Joe HURT ONCE in his whole career... MAYBE! And now he is going to get knocked out in what will be his last (or last but one fight). These fools and their opinions are naught but cowpats in the field of common sense.
life ban bet. i'll take joe, you take RJJ, up for it? if that's not good enough for you we can do the ol' C_H_J specials, a tatoo bet or a suicide bet.
Maybe I am, I don't care, I know I just saw 3 fighters that Jones could and should have KO'd if he has any aspirations of knocking out Calzaghe It's the speed that has diminished, rather than pure power, so the punches aren't as explosive. Not to mention he doesn't have the stamina to punch hard for 12 rounds, with any consistent work-rate.
