I think Joshua needs to get inside him as Wilder isnt as explosive at close range. Going to be difficult to get inside though.

You sound like a trainer. Surprisingly I find myself agreeing with you.

The best thing would be for Joshua to do what Lewis did against Golota. Jump on him from the start and don't let him settle.

The bodybuilder would get obliterated by those whirling windmills, before he gets close enough to Wilder. Those Ibf, Wba, and Wbo belts have Deontay's name written all over them!

Excellent post, agree about the left hand, using the left hand as a lead on Wilder is asking for trouble, Wilder beats you to the punch and end up eating a right hand, we saw that vs Breazeale. Joshua should only use it as a counter after Wilder misses with the right hand if at all.

Joshua needs to use the simple 1-2 as you say, Washington was winning doing that with a far inferior 1-2, but he can't become predictable with the left jab or he'll get times with a right over the top, Joshua needs to feint a lot with the jab and needs to move to his right to stay away from Wilder's right.

Also agree about tiring out Wilder, Fury is the only boxer to put his weight on Wilder and it ended up with Wilder tiring late, Joshua needs to be physical in close, push him around, lean on him, drain him physically to slow Wilder down.

I think AJ just just as hard (at least) as Wilder.

Yes, like Canelo when planted, uppercuts or body shots have strong effect. I remember when Canelo and GGG were fighting on the inside, both really tired, Canelo throw a mean uppercut in Gennadys guard and had him stepping back from the force and loosening his arms in the process to reset. This is the type of power that Joshua can exert when planted and positioned correctly that will look good to the judges.

Imagen Joshua as a fencer. Checking Wilder everytime he loads up. Keeping the right distance. Wilder cant risk getting caught like he did against Fury. Joshua will take the Parker approach but explode once he has him in trouble, like after a counter right cross. Then he will use his size, strength and calculated aggressivenes to finish him of. He will literally ragdoll him into uppercuts from the inside unlike Ortiz.

The last place Joshua wants to be with Wilder is on the inside. Wilder has dangerous, awkward punches in close quarters.
Joshua would be better off racking up early rounds by outboxing Wilder at a slowed down pace for 7 rounds and then just circle right away from Wilders right hand for the rest of the fight and hopefully steal a couple more rounds. Wilder can be outboxed. You get in his range and it's disaster.

This is all a moot point as Ruiz is set to KO Joshua before going on to KO Wilder and becoming Undisputed HW Champ :stirrpot

Yes, I suspect McCracken will have AJ step to Wilder as soon as possible and make it
a mid range fight where Wilder has no chance. A high guard and feints can get AJ close
to Wilder to close that danger gap where Deontay can get off with that right hand.
