Hes out of the picture now fighting a bum in April when he should have a mega money 4th bout with Pac. He clearly won that last fight and now its Tim Bradley getting his shot. Its not fair at all. Khan/Peterson 2 , Pac/Bradley and Ortiz/Berto. Where is Marquez big fight? Hes top 3 P4P. Hes such a great boxer he cleanly outboxed Pac last time. I feel bad for him.

Pacquaio only fights Marquez every 4 years, in the hope that Juan has finally gotten old and his mind has slowed to the point where Pac can over-whelm him. That re-match is scheduled for just under 4 years time.

Marquez shouldn't risk harming his legacy, fight this as a stay busy fight and then close the show with a huge fight in Mexico. (I'm not sure he needs Morales at this point) Morales is a viable option and would be a huge fight, there's also guys like Robert Guererro, Ricky Burns, Peterson, maybe Khan. Marquez should have a final big selling fight he can win, and call it a glorious career.

Marquez is a question mark over Pacquaio's career, rather than vise versa.

I wouldn't feel too sorry for him. I think he's chosen to take a safe fight. It ensures he remains unbeaten and in contention for a good fight in November with either Pac, or the little fella' in your avatar.

sorry but this is false and everyone knows this. after the first fight, marquez escaped with a draw and doesn't want an immediate rematch when pac wants it. his excuse is the purse that they would only be getting a 100k raise from their previous purse of $700k. pac is up to it even with just a $100k raise.

to make the long story short, jmm refuse the immediate rematch and went on to fight guys like jandaeng, jaca and john in indonesia. his management ****ed him up. so it's a bit unfair when you would put the 4 years of lag between the first two fights to pacquiao.

as of present, we all know arum wants to make the 4th jmm fight but jmm has demanded some unreasonable requests like a 4th judge, a $20M guarantee and the fight should be in mexico.

Marquez will be ok. He's just taking on a decent opponent in a stay busy fight. He'll soon be back into the mix at 135/140 and there is always another Pacquiao fight on the horizon. His next opponent isn't great but the alternative is not fighting at all, so it's a good opportunity to stay fresh, make a bit of extra money, get some good exposure in Mexico and fight again within a few months.

I'd love to see Marquez/Rios. Given Rios' weight issues, it'd probably be at 140 or a catchweight. I think Marquez would stop Rios in about 11 rounds.

You're spot on. Marquez would destroy Rios. Arum knows that so it won't happen. I'd pick Guererro to UD him savagely too. Rios is tailor made for a Boxer puncher who understands the concept of angles.

He looks world class fighting guys who try to fight tough, such as Acosta and Murray.

Guerrero needs to prove himself before you can make such sweeping statements. Remember he lost to a determined pressure fighter in Salido. Rios is very big and strong, can throw a huge amount of punches and has a good chin. The Ghost may crack under that sort of pressure

Lets be realistic marquez beats cuenca and if pac beats tim then its only logical bob makes pac vs jmm 4, if he fights someone else he will probably fight rios and retire.

100% agree with you. It was said Rios wants the Gamboa and then Marpquez fight. I don't see him fighting Gamboa since he went through hell making 135 last time in. I bet the Rios/Marquez fight will be next for Marquez after his stay busy fight. You think a Rios fight can be ready for Marquez instead of the stay busy fight?

Marquez is the man he beat Pac twice and knows it. One of the best fighters I've had the pleasure of watching.

In terms of Combination punching, JMM is the greatest boxer I've ever seen.

Like poetry in motion, he's been a real privallige to watch.

dont feel too sorry for him, the guy is very wealthy and an all time great no matter what. The simple fact is manny is the cash cow and thats way it goes in the business. Manny just cant handled counter punchers of his calibre. Marquez would teach Rios and Guerrero a boxing lesson.
