I feel that beating Wlad is an issue of generalship - controlling distance and tempo.

    Hey!

I answered your question in the other thread & you never responded!!!

Chagaev has a solid chin & a thick neck which means he can afford to press the action and maybe with a little bobbing & weaving he can get inside.

Contrary to popular, mostly British, opinion here Haye didn't have the luxury of a solid chin so that would be suicide for him to fight that way.

Also, Ruslan is a southpaw and he'll throw stuff that Wlad isn't used to and that's the best chance he has at getting through Klitschko's defense.

he has a great chin so he will lose 12-0 instead of a ko...haye will either be ko'd or use his speed combos and power and catch wlad...I like haye to beat chagaev if they fought

Pffft, that thread is so 1999. I'll go into a bit of detail with you here.

I expect to see a little bit of this. I wonder if he will launch a body attack and look to grub points by presenting activity in the inevitable clinches? However, I expect to see him trying to close the distance by bringing a long counter-punch into an approaching Wlad - could be a horrifically dull fight if this happens.

I'm of the British, unbiased opinion that the jury is still out on the Haye chin. But Wlad is a puncher, obviously.

Don't think he could man, he just doesn't have the style to do it in my opinion nor the defense. If he thought 380 pound feather fisted Valuev hits hard then wait till he runs into Wladimir's left hooks or straight rights. I honestly believe that Wladimir is BY FAR the biggest puncher in the heavyweight division today and no one comes remotely close.

Haye's skills are very underrated, he was a former olympian and has very good skills. I suggest you watch more of his fights rather than interviews.

Agree with you about Wlad as a puncher.

As to prime Chagaev against Wlad maybe we'll even be lucky enough to find out!

    Thanks.

    That's what I meant.

(The thread was discussing an upcoming Chagaev/Wlad fight).

Chagaev is a light hitting slow southpaw. Wlad should knock him out.

Wlad did not have any problems pounding Chris Byrd, and Chris Byrd was fast. The Southpaw thing should not bother Wlad. I don't know what the heck Wlad was thinking when he fought Ibragamov... he simply phoned it in for no reason. Against Chagaev, I don't expect Wlad to make the same mistake. I suspect it will be kind of boring like the Ibragimov fight (past Chagaev fights show he's not a rambunctious fighter), but I think Wlad will do the finishing after he lulls Chagaev to sleep with a few rounds of hard jabs.

    Klitschko KO by 8

Chagaev is totally superior to Haye. So many believe the American boxing propaganda that Vlad can't fight at all. They are so stupid, ignorant because they do not do their homework. Vlad has real skills and is willing to do the work to create such.
