I wouldnt be suprised if they were 10's but i really dont think Mosley will care if there 8's or 10's.......as for the weight issue Floyd might try a catch weight but i honestly doubt it.

 

That's wrong.
Fighters can absorb punches from 10oz gloves better and for longer than they would from 8oz gloves (and so are able to take more punishment). Therefore that would increase the risk for brain injuries and deaths.

How many serious head injuries and deaths have the UFC had with their fighters using 4-6oz gloves, and full force kicks and knees to the head in the octagon?

 

and besides anyone who has ever put on gloves knows that anything below 12's still hurt (a lot)

 

Hell to be honest with you...If a person can bang...16 oz gloves hurt like a *****...I know from experience!:blackeye

 

Hmm 8oz gloves might make it a little more of a chess mach to be honest

i do agree with you on that, typically in the past it was middleweight and up that used 10 oz's, i am a supermiddle fighter and i have never been lower than that so i am used to using 10 oz gloves, so i dont neccasarily feel there like pillows but since there has been some recent deaths in rings at lower weights they have changed the rules, now lower weight fighters have the option. i do think ww fights should use 8 oz's but if both fighters agree i understand as well

 

hatton v urango was a dullish fight due to 10oz .
well not dull but too big for 140

 

I agree 100%.... i remember my 1st amateur fight when they gave me those 12's after using 16 and 18's in the gym and i remember saying to myself 'this guys dead" haha
