Well I decided that if I was to have a better understanding of one of my favourite sports I had better get a little closer to it, you know, make it more personal. I'm pretty good at most sports and I try to stay in decent shape but I certainly have no lofty ambitions of fame I assure you. I'm too old, too tired and really not fond of the thought of taking too many blows to my already addled head. So today I joined a boxing gym, Bryon Mackies place, he was the Canadian middleweight champ for a while. I thought perhaps I would get a taste of what it feels like to train hard, spar some rounds and who knows, maybe a 4 rounder or something. At any rate, I went for the first time today and trained with Bryon for an hour. I thought I was going to puke and I sweated enough to fill a kids swimming pool. It's 9:30 pm here now and I still have no appetite but man.......I feel good. I go back for more on Thursday. Cant wait.
:good Good on you mate. I know exactly what you mean. Boxing is such a great thing to have in your life and has such a positive impact in so many ways. I don't know what I'd do without it.
Good for you dude. For me nothing was more exciting than when I started boxing. And I was nervous about going in the front door What happened?
