Guys lose. Your post though is indicative of the delusion of boxing fans and how their reaction to losses hinders the sport because it doesn't reward guys that take risks in their matchmaking.

When I heard that crack and saw Williams fall, in almost slow motion, my heart sank and I was in shock. I dont think I have been that shocked in a fight since Roy Jones got sparked by Tarver. And I was pretty much sad all night for Williams.

He was a knockout waiting to happen with that ******ed arm punching and face first defense style that he brings. Margarito's *****(Cintron) would have probably knocked him out had he not pulled a superfrog out of the ring. Martinez, another Margo victim, got the job done and he's not even a big puncher. Williams is pretty much finished now and I'm not even sure if he can beat Cotto anymore who is another Margarito leftover.

Paul Williams is my 2nd favorite fighter and the first fighter I saw live (against Cintron). He is exciting and brings it but I also knew he had flaws that came with his obvious physical advantages that he doesn't use that well. He seems like a genuinely good guy as well. I had a feeling just the right boxer would expose his flaw and that's what Sergio Martinez did. His great reach could also be nullified if you knew how to fight on the inside. Had Paul avoided that big punch, I had a feeling last night's fight would have gone to another close decision. I had Paul winning the first round by a slight margin. Hope he bounces back soon.

If Paul Williams is'nt distraught over his KO loss, his fans should follow suit and not be either.

Williams got hit right on the button with a perfect shot.
For as good a figher as Sergio Martinez is, he may very well go the rest of his career and not land another perfect shot like that.

These things happen when two warriors are at it both with KO mentality.

Those guys were not boxing last night, they were throwing down!:yep

That was a great round and a half, and my gut tells me that with the way Williams was handling getting sparked, he's going to be back just fine.

How could you NOT see a guy with no defense getting knocked out?

I always said Paul Williams was a knock out waiting to happen. However, if his punch resistance is not gone, he will be fine. He has alot of areas where he can improve.

He fights at the wrong distance and he carries his hands right hand too low. He definetly needs to get a new trainer.

Paul was totally separated from his senses, as seen by the catatonic look on his face on the canvas. I'm not that much of a Williams fan, but that left me somewhat distraught in my moment of excitement after the KO.
