Jesus H. Christ....... Jimmy Tillis of 1991 and 226 pounds was a sorry mother****er and a slob against against hot-shot Tommy Morrison on the undercard of "Mercer-Damiani." Tommy M. scored 3 knockdowns and got the mandatory TKO win over Tillis in round 1.... WEAK! atsch:rofl I'm now gonna review Raymond Mercer's come-from-behind KO over WBO champ Francisco Damiani here... :deal Anyone remember or even cared about this card?:huh I will say that Mercer was still dedicated to training when he was south of 220 like here against the Italian pastry Damiani.... :good MR.BILL:hat
The card also had Seldon stopping Ribalta after 3 rds....... Ribalta was a lost cause hanging on for money after his strong showing / loss to Tyson in '86....... MR.BILLbbb I have Ribalta's '93 loss to Holmes, too.....:hey
The Ribalta loss a few years earlier to Vitali was pretty brutal. He sure went out bad in that one and it probably instantly put him into a C grade heavy and no longer a B grade. RE: Morrison/Tillis Man, that Bill Cayton sure knew how to pick ideal opponents for his heavyweight up and comers. He had every one of his guys looking like juggernauts. Tillis did his job. RE: Damiani/Mercer How much studying of that fight do you think Larry Holmes did? He must've had an ear to ear grin. Another case of an ideal opponent and anything Damiani did, even at that age Larry could do better.
You really took yourself out of your comfort zone, MR. Bill, Young overhyped Morrison vs a never was older warhorse tillis. What happened to old warhorse vs old warhorse ? If your going to bring up a forgettable fight (s) fill us in on the backstory : Tillis claims to have thrown the fight. Also Ribalta put seldon on his ass in the first 3 seconds. Who was the betting favirote on Seldon- Ribalta, Mr. Bill , feel me in please
Tillis was woefully outta shape here in 1991 against Morrison, but, he could've done better had he trained.... MR.BILL:bbb:hat
