I gained a lot more respect for Floyd after Saturday...

The TS is insane. Most of the fans were definitely impressed by Floyd's performance. But there is no reason to gain respect to a boxer who ended the fight that way when he was expected too much. Merchant was right that he was in-charge throughout the fight and could have proven himself that he can finish Ortiz in a convincing KO.

 

I'm saying it now floyd is the best fighter of his generation.

It's incredible how people attack Floyd because he "told off an 80 year old". If Merchant is too old to take back the criticism he dishes out, he shouldn't be commentating any longer. I also find it comical that people blame Floyd for the fact that Ortiz got knocked out by a two-piece. If Ortiz gets up, he gets manhandled the rest of the fight. He just happened not to.

Merchant has been and always be a critic to challenge any fighter. He criticized Floyd for missing the opportunity when he can finish Ortiz in a convincing fashion, same as he criticize Pacquiao regarding a close fight decision win over Marquez.

That's because no one can deny Floyd is very talented. You don't have to be a fan of his to see he is very skilled. I particulary don't like his style of fighting, but I can't deny he is a great fighter. Now just as it is obvious that he is skilled, it is also obvious that he is a piece of **** of a person.
