First off i'll admit i did not watch abraham vs dirrell live, i found out the result on this forum actually.

I noticed the whole faking debate going on, the majority accepted he was genuinely hurt but it seemed about 10% thought he faked it.

So i watch the fight, round 11 approaches, and im sat there waiting for some controversial moment, you know something worth starting a debate over.

What do i see? i see dirrell slip in the corner, then, whilst he's blindsided, take a huge right hook off abraham which snaps his neck back, then he sits up and collapses. all this happened in like the space of a second!

Am i missing something here? there is no controversy at all, he got sparked out and needed treatment.

The way some people went on "i saw it man, he looked into the refs eyes, then pretended to go sleep" and other such bull****, i was expecting about a 5 second delay with maybe a dance in the middle of it.

But no, he was on one knee, got smashed, and consequently was on his back.

Most 1 punch ko's happen this way, a huge hook lands on a chin, the guy jutters then his knees brace, then in the mean time another meaningless punch is thrown, but the damage is already done. It's very rarely, boom punch lands immediately and straight away he is laid out.

I know i've rambled on but basically i'm shocked at how little evidence there is to suggest any faking went on!

I obviously gave some posters too much credit!

The evidence is in the Slow Motion Replay in which you can see Dirrell after he gets tagged look over at AA like What the **** with clear eyes, and then suddenly reality set in and he cashed in on an opportunity, IMO sure there was a foul but the fight looked like it was going to end the way Taylors fight with AA ended and based on Dirrell looking over at AA on that Slow Motion replay its evidence to me that Dirrell did play this one out a bit.
When you get cracked and knocked the **** out like that, you dont have control of your eyes they just go where they want to go usally rolling in the back of your head, that wasnt the case here. quality acting IMO. sure there was an illegal foul but Dirrell was not that hurt...

I thought he was faking when I saw it live but after seeing what happened and the reply it was clearly a KO for me.

the second AA hit him I thought - "all Dirrell has to do now is stay down and he wont need to fight the last 2 rounds" who didn't think that? so it is not crazy to say someone would fake it.

but there is no way Dirrell did the fake KO with the shakes and afterwards the tears etc. that would be too much.

not a chance, there wasnt even that great a chance AA would've ko'd him! dirrell was clearly winning round 11.

He sat up for maybe half a second before he crashed to the mat, there was no recognition, no nothing he just got hit then dropped.

when a boxer gets ko'd or hit that hard he needs medical treatment, it is rarely an instantaneous moment that causes it.

what about watson? he was fine at first, look at him now. is he acting?

Expected better from a Leeds fan :D EVERYONE I showed it to thinks he played on it. Dont blame him to be honest either ..that sucker punch could have had an effect for the rest of the fight.

you might have fought that watching it in the comfort of ya chair, but in the moment dirrell would not have had that clarity, just gotta watch the ko punch land and ya can see how real it is.

lufcrazy, please see the thread on AA's possible faking of his broken jaw against Edison Miranda. That is where the current controversy lies.

Some people are just delusional.... Dirrell was clearly hurt by that big right, AA put everything onthat and really had some leverage on a sitting duck... sad to see this happen to Dirrell especially after that crazy scoring against Froch... Seems he has came in this tournament and shined but is getting the worst kinda luck imaginable...

I really wanted to see what was gonna happen in those final championship rounds... Dirrell was easily ahead, but Abe was coming strong.... It would have probably ended very dramatically... i don't think it was an intentional foul but nonetheless Abe made a mistake and the ref made the proper call...

I don't think he faked it. AA did put some hate on that shot and if Dirrell faked it, then he can take a hell of a punch. Come on now, AA is a monster puncher. Everyone reacts differently when they get hurt.

No Body was saying he wasnt hurt by that shot dont get me ****ed up here, what I am saying is he wasnt hurt to the point IMO in which he should have been flopping like a fish on the canvas, he looked right at AA after the shot landed (watch the slow motion replay) He looked right at AA and made or had an expression on his face as if he was saying "Damn dawg" and then it hit him....... he could take advantage right here and get the win he knew in his mind he was well ahead and he was probably a bit tired at that point it was obvious he was slowing down he was just dropped by a clean right hand and AA was closing in on him.... why let the fight slip away especially when you clearly have it won even if they go to the cards.... so why fight the extra two rounds after taking that hard shot like that?

I know it sounds kinda cowardish but thats not what I am saying what AA did was ****ed up no doubt....

you haven't seen the Montel Griffin clip yet have you?

He does the exact the same thing. Gets popped by Roy Jones on the ground, gives a "damn dawg" look glances at the ref and then fall unconscious a half second later.

Are you prepared to say Montel was faking?
