I get the impression the WBA, IBF and WBO don't like Joshua that much ... see their new ratings

I get the impression the organizations that had Anthony Joshua as champ for the last handful of years are kind of glad to be rid of him at the moment.

Did you see their latest ratings?

    World Boxing Organization
    1. Joe Joyce
    2. Joseph Parker
    3. Andy Ruiz
    4. Anthony Joshua

    International Boxing Federation
    1. Vacant
    2. Charles Martin
    3. Filip Hrgovic
    4. Joseph Parker
    5. Anthony Joshua

    World Boxing Association
    1. Daniel Dubois
    2. Michael Hunter
    3. Robert Helenius
    4. Hughie Fury
    5. Anthony Joshua

    Ouch!! o_O

Charles Martin, Joseph Parker, Andy Ruiz ... ALL rated above him. And so is HUGHIE FURY? :hang

If Joshua didn't have that immediate rematch line in his contract with Usyk, looks like none of these orgs would've even considered Joshua for a title shot.

Clearly, they were happy to see him go. Probably got sick of Joshua and Hearn telling them what to do.

That's a steep drop from just five weeks ago.

You don't usually see a two-time holder of those belts drop so far in the ratings after a loss. (For example, Wilder is still rated the #1 contender by the WBC.)

I wonder if Joshua will even be rated in their top 10 if he loses the rematch to Usyk?

Really makes that rematch a "must win" for Joshua ... as far as the orgs he used to lead are concerned.

Indeed it is rather strange. The same thing happened to Klitschko when he lost to Fury.

The other fighters would have 'earned' their rankings with those organisations by paying sanctioning fees to defend international or regional titles. You can't just boot them out of a spot they've spent good money paying for. The rankings are irrelevant for AJ anyway. He has more money behind him than any of them & can buy a title shot whenever he chooses. The problem he's going to have is winning it.

Pretty much how it should be when you drop belts

WBC leading the way with nonsense otherwise (and with the WBA involved that takes some doing)

At the moment, there are five UK fighters with a higher rating than Joshua.

Fury and Whyte in the WBC ... and Dubois, Hughie and Joyce in the WBA, IBF and WBO ... are all rated above him.

Apparently, the sanctioning bodies now view Anthony Joshua as only the sixth-best UK heavyweight.

Joshua and Hearn must've been really disrespectful.

Who is left from the UK to rate above him? Chisora?

No. The reason he isn't higher is because he is literally in place to compete for the belts next time out - so they don't need to place him higher.

Joshua will always have more sway over the diddies ranked above him because of the enormous fees he generates.

Well, he clearly doesn't hold "more" sway with them because they dropped him down five spots in most of the ratings. There are only five spots left.;)

They all uniformly appear ticked off.

He pays higher fees than most. This sounds like Joshua and Hearn have balked at paying those fees, or possibly only paid a PORTION of the fees (which were more than most pay) and told them to be happy with what they got (since they were more sanctioning fees than most everyone else pays).

That's happened before with guys like Oscar. An org won't strip you if you pay them, for instance, $500,000 out of a $750,000 sanctioning fee. That's many times more than some champs pay. But the orgs do get a little angered when you hold out on them. Plus, Joshua threatened to drop all his belts on multiple occasions this year, when the Tyson Fury negotiations were going on. The orgs don't like that, either.

    Sounds like a bad breakup.

Good thing he put the rematch clause in there. (He and Hearn probably knew this retribution was coming.)

    Joshua better win the return.

Wilder hasn't been rated by them since 2014 when he signed to fight for the WBC title. He's a WBC guy.

Joshua was the champ of all those orgs five weeks ago and is fighting for those belts again, next.

Now he's rated behind Hughie Fury and three guys he already beat.

That's the sign of three angry orgs.

What I have just said has bypassed you.

Also, if you think the only imbursement governing bodies are enjoying is from an official sanctioning fee, then you're naive.

Yep so basically it's only the Wilder Bodyguard Council who rate him
