I give Angulo a VERY good chance at beating Canelo

Angulo clearly has the tools to trouble Canelo. Power, aggression, stamina (ignoring the Kirkland fight), chin. Canelo is not the hardest guy to hit and Angulo was able to bear down on Lara who I see as boxer far superior to Canelo.

Canelo has gotten used to fighting welterweights (Mosley, Josesito, Floyd) and Trout who can't really punch. He's going to be in with a whole new animal in Angulo when it comes to power.

Though Canelo's style plays well against a fighter like Angulo, I think the fact that he has CONSISTENTLY gassed past about 6 and the fact that Angulo throws a high volume of hard shots with a sustained body attack, it'll be a rough night for Alvarez.

Angulo's record isn't pretty but he's far better than it looks. The Kirkland fight was a mistake, and I think had he paced himself he likely would have won. The Lara (who I see as a clear best at 154) fight was extremely competitive. Angulo showed a lot in that fight even though he lost.

I'd be a little worried to bet this due to robbery, but I think Angulo has an excellent chance of winning.

Definitely, Canelo doesnt have the workrate or movement to keep Angulo off him like Pac vs Margarito and Cotto vs Margarito II

Could be similiar to Cotto vs Margarito I

Worth putting a bit of money on Angulo KO to make it exciting

I think you have a much better chance of being utterly wrong.

Mayweather beats Canelo = Canelo is the worst fighter ever according to some of the people here. Their unadulterated hatred for the american has blinkered their views on all of his opponents.

    I don't.

I think James Kirkland - Canelo would be a big fight in the summer.

Lara is slicker and hits harder than Canelo yet Angulo was able to find him and punish him. Common sense says that he can do the same if not worse to Alvarez

That looks like dismissing Floyd's win against him.

Angulo might give him some trouble based on pressure and punchingpower, but I can't see him pulling out a victory against the undercover Irishman.

And Canelo has more ring IQ and is better in every department compared to Kermit Cintron, so.. common sense, eh?

I'd rather go off recent form than a fight from 5 years ago

Molina would probably beat both of them.

The Angulo from the Lara fight would have probably stopped Cintron faster than Margarito did.

I predict a very impressive win for Canelo. Angulo might have a couple of spots but Alvarez is clever enough to avoid being stuck on the ropes.

Angulo is going to get brutalized. There is a reason why Canelo's team picked Angulo for a bounce back fight.

I really hate it when people use this 'there is a reason his team picked him' argument. Suggesting that a boxer's team is privy to information that we aren't. They may THINK they are getting an easy fight but that should have no impact on your analysis of the fight. They can be wrong and there are so many examples of a team picking what they thought was an easy opponent only to see their fighter get beat.
