Remember the insanity coming out of Canelo’s camp and from his fans leading up to the Bivol fight? He was talking about fighting a cruiserweight and even speculating about fighting Usyk. His fans were right there predicting Canelo victories at cruiser and over Usyk. Complete insanity. Some even described the Bivol fight as “close”. It was anything but close.

We will see if Canelo is a man of his word. He committed to a Bivol rematch and Bivol has said he would come down to 168 to fight for Canelo’s belts. I guarantee Canelo is not going to give him a fight at 168 because he would lose all his belts. He might go to 175 and fight him but I highly doubt it because he knows how good Bivol is and that he has no answer for Bivol’s skill in the ring. At least if he loses at 175 he can blame size as many of his fans did. If he loses at 168 he has no excuse. I’d love to see a 168 fight with no rehydration clauses because it would be funny to see Canelo’s fans call Bivol a weight bully. The same guys who cheered Canelo on when he fight tiny Khan. That would I be hilarious.

Watch for Canelo’s team to push hard for Bivop to fight Beterbiev because that wouod give him the out he needs to duck the fight. You know he picked Zurdo and was pulling for him to beat Bivol so he could avoid fighting him. Canelo had Benevitez at 168 as a potential opponent but that’s about it. Maybe get a coupe MWs to move up, Charlo, etc. I’m curious to see what happens but don’t hood your breath on a Bivol rematch no matter what they say. Also, no way in hell does Canelo fight Beterbiev.

He could bring Charlo up from 160lb too. Canelo has had 60ish fights now. I wonder how long will he keep going.

How can you duck someone you fought 3 times. Canelo had a fight lined up with Cotto since 154 but failed to materialize right away after Cotto lost to Trout. Cotto then beats Martinez for the WBC title at a catchweight of 155 then fought GGG a year and a half later in a big PPV clash.

Because Canelo vacated the 160 strap rather than fighting GGG after he beat Cotto in 2015 on the basis that we "wasn't a 160lb fighter".

He then aged GGG out by nearly 2 full years before taking that challenge.

He vacated the WBC belt the same reason Martinez vacated the very same belt, contractual disputes with either their promoter or HBO, yet I don’t think anyone holds Martinez accountable for never fighting Zbik. I mean he did fight Chavez a year and a half later for the same strap just like Canelo did vs GGG.

GGG was the overwhelming favorite vs Wade, Brook and Jacobs and steamrolled both Wade and Brooke. Claiming GGG regressed after the Jacobs fight is a stretch, Wilder looked good knocking out a bunch of bums too, just saying.

Nothing he does would ever satisfy you. He thought he was a can? Canelo knows boxing enough to not be that stupid.

I'm personally surprised that Canelo could not see what a nasty matchup he was. Either Clenelo had super confidence in his drugs and abilities or in his pet judges. Then again I suspect a lot of boxers can't see the woods for the trees.

Boxing is a winning business. Winning.... If a fighter steps up in weight its because he has calcultated the risk and believes he will win. He isnt going to step up, calculate the risk, believe he will lose, then take the fight!

Canelo took calculated risks that he thought he would win. He picked his mark. He waited till GGG was past his best, he hand picked the fading Kovalev, and got a surprise vs Bivol.

Now, if Canelo has the balls you all believe he has, he will put his SM belts on the line vs Bivol.

But, If Canelos business is WINNING, he wont fight Bivol at SM or even again. Canelo picks his mark. Canelo is in the business of WINNING, not in the business of LEGACY.

Bivol is in the business of LEGACY!

Well who's to say he wouldn't rematch Bivol after rehabbing his injury,

We will just have to wait & see, he doesn't strike me as a guy who would just reject it out right.
