Ward - Dirrell will be a snooze fest. Andre "hit and hold" Ward vs Andre "hug and run" Dirrell. Most likely end up as a controversial SD.

There will be more holding in this fight than a dancing with the stars episode.

Very possible considering AA's workrate and Dirrell's undoubted speed and defensive skills. With the fight in America judges will most likely give far more credit to Dirrell's mind numbingly negative style and, if he pot shots like against Froch whilst keeping out of the way, give him the decision.
Stinking the place out seems to be all the rage across the pond considering the indignation at the FrochvDirrell decision.

Pot shotting won't work against AA. His guard can be overcome either by punching around it, which meand being close, or by engaging and being willing to trade, which also means being close. AA's style negates outboxing from a safe distance, unless a fighter gest a decision just based on workrate but with an extremely low connect rate.

Home boy has won every fight so far. Dirrell did make Froch look slow and slug like (read "negative" by some and not that Froch needed much help with that) when it came to dodging punches. Dirrell could surprise you on this one. Is Abraham all that effective when he isn't set? I mean those sneak, effective counters that he throws once he has lulled you to sleep? I think Dirrell could turn him enough to screw him right into the ground, tagging him around his guard and scoring points in the process.

And I have a feeling a lot of Pavlik fans are all over this thread treating it like Abraham did indeed get outboxed when the fight hasn't happened yet while waiting in all seriousness for Pavlik's next fight against David Blaine.

What do you expect? We got infected by a bad case of Ricky Hatton.

People need to watch AA-Taylor closely and how did AA's turtle defense not only blocked most of Taylor's shots as he took Jermain to low blow him and lose points... The thing about AA is that he's very strong at this weight class - he can block em easily and create avenues to batter his opponents with meaty shots that simply burst up his opponent defense. Dirrel is a better mover than Taylor but he's not stronger and he's not most definitely aggressive. Andre may run and pot-shot him all night but that should not win the fight for him in my opinion. In case there are exchanges, there's one high case for AA to KO Andre silly.

Sounds like you really think that you have AA figured out.

Dirrel is going to have to sit down on his punches. He won't be able to "Curtis Stevens" his way to a victory against AA because sooner or later AA will make fight. If he can withstand it and is mentally strong enough, I could envision him winning a decision but it's going to be a damn close, and very competative fight. I'm looking forward it. I'm from Grand Rapids, so I'll be rooting for the Flint native, however, I except AA to win.

With the fight getting closer...I'm sticking to guns and feeling more confident about picking Dirrell to beat AA.

Cant wait to see this...Even if I'm wrong its still going to be a damn good fight.:yep

I like Dirrell. He gained a fan in me with the Froch fight. He's got a great chance here. Dirrell UD

I can see post KD against Froch Dirrell winning this fight. He just needs to NOT play AA's game and make AA open up even if that means making it a bore fest.

He could definitely win, but he better not fight this one like a *****.

If he fights like a ***** this time again, I hope on principle they rob his ass.

Nobody wants to see a man run and hug his way to victory.

If he does that **** again, Ward better knock this fool off the map and make him scared to go outside.

I have a feeling he gets KTFO'd. Not really he could get DQ'd for excessive holding and flailing around the canvas. I dont see how he beats AA, hes not savvy enough on infighting and clinching yet, but maybe he suprises me.
