I dont think he was lying but he obviously didnt weigh THAT much cos no way he weighed more than the Ortiz fight. Just go back and look at the pictures.

Floyd just isn't a big WW how many times have we even seen him make 147 on the weigh in?

I cant think of once. (bar the 150 for the Oscar fight)

Nobody knew officially since Floyd refused to be weighed; Nacho (and maybe Marquez as well? don't recall) suspected that he was weighing as much as 160 on that night.

Floyd claimed he was 152 that night. Marquez was 148. Juan was fighting a 4 pound weight advantage.

A smaller, faster, quicker fighter does'nt add mass to face a bigger fighter who is also fast.

Mayweather weighing less vs Ortiz than he did vs Marquez actually makes sense.
The one thing I believe Mayweather wanted to be sure of is that he was faster and quicker than Ortiz, and to do that you come in lighter.

Being that little bit faster by coming in light did'nt really matter vs Marquez because Mayweather was going to be quicker and faster than Marquez regardless of the day of the fight weight.

I believe Mayweather wanted to stop Marquez to prove a point and do something Pacquiao could not do, and so by adding the extra pounds Mayweather hoped to physically run through Marquez.

One thing is for certain, Mayweather walking up the ring ropes against Ortiz at 150 lbs proves that he was very much capable of making the 144 lbs weight limit but just refused to do so.

he wasn't lying, if I remember correctly, he said he felt like Mayweather weighed around 160 that night because of how strong physically Floyd was.

    Who are you asking?

The answer depends on who you are asking.

If it is the *****s - you know the answer - not more than 150. And definitely JMM was lying. There is no way that the way bigger looking Gayweather would outweigh JMM by more than 4 pounds.

If you ask people who actually have gray mater in their skull, the weight difference must be significant.

I think it pretty obvious mayweather has never been 160lb. The lad is no big welter and i reckon 150lb -152lb is as big as he gets without loosing too much speed.. What was more obvious was how infective JMM was at 147lb but then again he did say he never put the weight on properly and it was his first outing so no wander he felt floyds power.

I don't understand the theory that he went up to 160lbs. Why would his walking around weight be 150lbs then he goes up to 160lbs on fight night, I don't understand why he would do that. Fighters who cut down a lot then go up on fight night I understand.

It's all bull**** just like many tried to fool all into thinking hatton was the smaller man.. More like less effective at a slightly higher weight.. Hatton regularly rehydrated to 156lb when he was a 140lb fighter and when he fought collazzo at ww I believe he weighed 158lb on fight night. Hatton started his career at 140lb and mayweather 130lb blah blah.

Yes JMM wasn't as heav as Floyd but not to the degree of 14lb or whatever.

Yea totally, just like the WAY BIGGER looking Mayweather against Ortiz.. only to end up being 14lbs lighter.

Shut the **** up with the guessing weights, you suck at it.
