And both are true, Hopkins can be rough and Dawson showed he can be frustrated in a fight, something he's shown in past fights too. And one thing to remember is, a great tactian like Hopkins is not the fighter you wanna get in the ring with when you have mental lapses because he'll exploit them, it don't care how old he is. Either way, it's gonna be a great tactical fight but my hunch tells me Dawson will pull another antown echols when he gets frustrated again if Hopkins is taking away his weapons and try and get Hopkins DQ'd like so many have in the past. I know a lot of people are picking a KO by Dawson and Dawson himself is confident he'll get it but if a were betting, i wouldn't be confident in that type of scenrio being that Hopkins has never been KO'ed and Dawson has never shown that type of punching power to KO someone of Hopkins stature. Anything is possible but definetly not likely.
I am out of this *****! We r punching in the air and repeating ourselves. I had it 4 today. Gonna wake up tomorrow with the same idea. Nowhere in this earth Dawson beats Hopkins legitimately.
I think the judges will be on his side because they are usually on the side of the up-and-coming young fighter with the future-ahead-of-him. Dawson was the future once. Now, people are less sure. But if anyone is getting robbed, it ain't Dawson. Yeah, I think there's a rightful perception that Hopkins will use every tactic, fair or not, to have his way. Dawson's won the political argument here. The referee is also crucial in this fight. He won't be on Hopkins' side here. All these things will also make a difference, I think. But I hope you and McGrain are right! Hope Hopkins wins!
Thnx, I also think they are gonna give it if it is close to the youngster like they have given 8 rounds to 4 for him against Glen in their first meeting and had everybody booing at Chad. Anyway, I expect to debate with you for the Bute-Hopkins fight next, c u.
:good Alas, I don't think Bute will ever get to fight Hopkins... Froch in May Ward (hopefully) by the end of the year/early 2013 Stevenson/Dirrell - his mandatory early/mid 2013... Unification fight with WBO belt-holder...late 2013 at the earliest... will Hopkins still be around in 2014? Will Bute fight him straight away at 175lbs or will he take on Pascal or Dawson or Kessler?? We'll see! You are much better at analysis than I am and I look forward to learning more from you, Dorfmeister - maybe when/if Ward fights Bute...?:good
Most of the Boxing.com boys picking Chad too :-( http://www.boxing.com/hopkins_dawson_ii_predictions.html
I'll throw my hat in with Hopkins. Chad is a very talented fighter in a number of ways but he isn't any too special.
Matt McGrain: ““For me, picking against Hopkins is only something you do once he’s died. The old man finally gets a close one on the cards, something like 7-5 on my card.”
