This version of Joshua is awful. He seems to have abandoned his jab, and is waiting on the back foot with his slow bodybuilder reflexes. Deontay has always been faster, but Anthony looks like the thing from the fantastic 4. He has just made his muscles too rock solid, and it won't work on someone so much faster than him. Ruiz and Usyk made him look like a dam tortoise!
After a thread runs about 3 pages it has mostly run its course. My view aligns w/some of the above. In Fury-Wilder II & III Fury fought Wilder aggressively putting DW on the back foot, scoring KDs and also getting dropped. But he prevailed and won both by stoppage. If AJ fights Wilder with his post Ruiz I style he likely gets KOd. Using that style AJs best hope is for Wilder to age "overnight" in the ring. Then we might see an AJ win.
The problem is AJ right now is terrified of getting dropped, Fury obviously wasn't. That's why AJ mentally it seems can't fight in his aggressive pre-Ruiz style. In all honesty aside from a new team AJ needed to get in touch with a sports psychologist if he hasn't already.
I wonder if the books are taking bets on the following : There will be a fight at the press conference : A fight will take place at the weigh in : A fight will take place at the stare down : A fight will occur after the fight ( in the ring, or outside it ) : Parlay of either or all of the above
I hope Joshua does try to 'master boxer' him. That will be funny. Wilder KO 6. His chance is to land something big before Wilder does and finish him off before Wilder recovers and KO's him later on. In the end we don't want either to win but it's ultimately funnier if AJ is KO'd cold.
nope too stiff and upright, not enough head movement to avoid that right hand. He just got his nose broke and face bloodied by helenius jab ffs
Do you really think that will be enough for Joshua, Wilder will knock him out cold before Joshua can do something tactical.
"Joshua gave a master boxer in Usyk two tough fights and won at least 5 rounds last fight" ..... yes he did
