Furthermore, I agree that all of his previous 40 fights were all mismatches, and no-one ever gave any of Floyd's opponents a chance till now. Matter of fact, Mosley is too old, Floyd shouldn't have ducked him all of these years and used the sly tactics of calling Shane out when he knew he had a toothache.

It's the same point. You can't compare his inability to stop someone to someone else that's never been stopped, and a completely different style of fighter. I don't think he'll stop Shane, but with him nearing 39, 15 months of inactivity and his style, it's possible.

 

He couldn't stop a 135lbs'er who has a record of bouncing off the canvas, even though he's never been stopped. So how is he going to stop a legitimate 147lbs'er who has never been stopped.

My point was... you can't say a guy can't stop someone who's never been stopped, because he couldn't stop someone who's never been stopped.

And being knocked down and stopped are completely different things.

I understand what you're saying, it's just your reference points don't add up.

 

In fairness to Floyd, I feel as though he could have knocked JMM out if he put his foot on the accelerator. I think he was looking to box all 12 rounds to get rid of any ring rust. That being said, there's no way in hell that Floyd knocks out Shane. Shane's been in there with the elite at 154lb's and he's never once looked like he was going to be knocked out. He's the defintion of iron chin.
