Just watched the first fight again, very closely. Seemed like Ruiz got to AJ whenever he pressed it. Those counters were so sharp and quick. AJ tried to circle, jab jab, right hand. Didnt matter. Ruiz was just too fast for him. I initially believed that it was the left hook in the 3rd round that was AJ's undoing. But, after reviewing the tape, AJ was having decent success in the 5th and the first half of the 6th. So much for being concussed. I think Ruiz will find the target again I like AJ too he's good for the sport Ruiz just has his number
A lot of talk about Ruiz weight...but he will of been doing plenty of 12 round sparring sessions and will know by now whether he is fit enough or not...Rumours would of come out of the gym if he was struggling with anything...he is definitely heavy but I don’t see it being an issue for Ruiz. The guy is a freak of nature in terms of athletic ability and body shape.
I know, it’s like people missed the part of the fight where AJ tried to jab and move, but Ruiz still caught him.
