That's what I was gonna say, he is skilled but he isn't improving any at all, ive seen some fighters just hit and wall and stay like that, he seems to be one of those we want all the prospects to improve and impress but not all of them do and I dont think we will be talking about Mike Jones down the road. For the record though Karass is a tough guy to fight if nothing else.

Bottom line Jones has every "tool" you could want, he may end up horrible but to act as if this is anything more than a delusional guess, simply to try and get attention. There is no logical reason to believe the kid won't be successful, none. You prediction (while it could come true) is based on nothing other than a desire to "go against the grain". "He hasn't impressed me", SMFH, cause you see guys do what he's done all the time I guess...**** outta here.

Really? You saw no improvement from SK 1 to SK 2?

    Classic LMAO...

Wait Wait Wait.. Okay I can understand you getting Alexander wrong but Kid Chocolate is still on the up swing.. I know he was inactive for a min but he is getting it going again.. staying active improving so the jury is still out on Kid Chocolate but Alexander is defiantly done.. I too jumped on that bandwagon when he Iced Urango..

Back to Jones.. He is moving forward my best prognosis for him is that at best he may become a Clottey type who is pretty decent A- fighter on his best day and a B+ fighter regularly.. Mike is doing the right things, staying busy but in my mind i keep saying about his bad performances its just a bad style match up.. maybe i need to come to the realization that Mike Jones is what he is and is not going to evolve into anything to much farther from what he is now..

I'm not that impressed by him, either. But, like with all prospects, we have to wait a couple of years to see what he could become.

I think our Kell Brook – who I hate – will beat him, though.

I can't believe everyone's complaining about the comparison with floyd, I mean brussells is probably outside of floyd's top 15 victories, he is really bad. Jones should have handled him, mos def.

Jones best bet is to be seem as the best of the rest, like berto was able to do. He can beat senchenko for the belt but the problem is following that he'd have to fight someone like brook, bradley or alexander next imo and a win against any of them will keep him credible, a loss will seriously hinder him. Losing that first fight to soto was bad, but like m says, he hasn't really looked impressive full stop.

I agree that Mike Jones is going nowhere.

He's athletically tallented, but he's a FUNDAMENTALY flawed fighter.

He basically learned to box wrong and that's something that's hard to fix, so as soon as he begins to lose his athleticism, nobody will remember his name.

Even now, he could potentially put on a fight of the year canidate against a B fighter, but that's only because he doesn't have the defense or skills to get out of the way of his opponents punches.

As for right now, his legs are fresh, so he uses those relatively well to get out of the way of his opponents, but after they are gone, he'll get the **** beat outta him.

There is just nothing he does that impresses me. He's solid I guess due to his athleticism, but as far as his skills are concerned, he leaves a lot to be desired.

People who picked over Bradley don't know **** about boxing.

And I disagree with what you said about Alexander. I think Alexander has solid fundamentals, great speed, and possibly elite level conditioning.

His problem is that he doesn't commit to his punches enough, nor try to hurt his opponents body.

If he did that, nobody would want to touch him.

Mike Jones though...he's an ass beating waitin to happen.

I agree he hasnt impressed me. He went life and death with Soto-Karass the first time around and beat him via UD the second time.

That is the same Soto-Karass Alfonzo Gomez was beating up before the ref stopped the fight. Gomez actually looked better against Karass than Mike Jones did.
