Pavlik will bully him into submission. Williams has never taken the punch of a guy like Pavlik yet, his height and reach is gone and he's in against a guy who likes to throw a lot of punches aswell, and is naturally much bigger and stronger.

 

If you truly guaranteed it, this would be backed up by a large wager on your part because its a "guarantee" right and you why not take "guaranteed" money? How much $$ are you truly willing to throw down on PW, not much in my guess. Same with Pavlick backers (I am one btw). Why, because this is close to a 50/50 fight and the odds will likely show that.

that's your reason why williams will surely beat pavlik? your analysis is a little lacking for someone so certain... my question is, with pavlik constantly coming forward, how is williams gonna do fighting off his back foot the whole fight? if he doesn't want to he's gonna be pushing up against pavlik the whole fight, which is gonna wear him down. he's gonna need a hell of a lot of lateral movement to win this fight and, while he's can move laterally pretty decently, it's not exactly his strong point.

Come on, I don't see Pavlik losing to Williams unless that one comes with an extraordinary effort either, but quoting that "no middleweight ever heard the final bell" is naive or horn-touting. Just because he just UD'd not-in-shape fighters who were a couple of pounds over the MW limit, in one case just ONE pound ? Several fighters who are natural middles made it to the end, and not only terrific name fighters.

On another note, what reach advantage ? Their reach will be almost the same, give and take an inch or so. That will have no impact in their setting up of shots, same way as with Thompson vs. Klitschko. Both will face the unusual situation of always being in range for a shot when they get in range for their own. I have the suspicion that Williams who milks that a lot will get affected more from it.
