I guess it'll be Frank Mir vs Cain Velasquez next then?

I can't see what other fights they can make for these guys.

JDS vs Brock/Overeem winner coming up, Kongo vs Hunt is done, Mir beat Nelson 2 fights ago, surely this is the logical next match?

I'd like to see this fight. If Cain tries to take Frank down and swarm him like he does to most opponents, he risks getting subbed by someone 20lbs heavier than him. If they fight on the feet, both men have had punch resistance issues lately. I think it could be a cracking fight.

That's a good fight for both guys. A win over Mir and Cain is right back in the mix of things. And if Mir beats Cain then he puts himself right in line for a title shot because everyone knows that Cain is still legit even if he loses two in a row.

The long layoff may have been a factor in Velasquez's shockingly early dispatchment at the hands of JDS. He looked much crisper and fitter against Brock Lesnar. JDS's striking, however, will be a nightmare for anyone. That coupled with his incredible takedown defense and quickness of foot.

If Cain can regain his earlier form I would make him a comprehensive favorite to defeat Mir. Mir has looked good feasting on the carcasses of Cro Cop, Nelson, Nogueira respectively. But Cain is obviously younger, fresher, will put more pressure on Mir than those guys did and probably causes him to gas eventually. There is always the chance of getting caught in a sub by Mir. But Cain seems to be adept at defending himself against them so far in his career.

Velsaquez by gnp in the 2nd in a fight he really needs to win to stay a top heavyweight.

Agreed. I'd favour Cain as well.

If Cain regains his earlier form he will beat Mir in convincing fashion.

Bit down the line, Alistair will beat JDS and win the strap, and almost immediately Mir will be up against JDS for what he did to Nog. Mir's got a big target on his back

A lot of rumours going around that he may replace Overeem against Brock.

Overeem has no chance against JDS. He's going to get stomped by a vastly superior boxer and fighter.

I wouldn't make any predictions until after 141. **** knows whats going on with the Overeem stuff. They might need a replacement if his test comes back negative.

That sprained knee he had didn't exactly help either.

Not that i'm making excuses cause JDS was hurt also.
