-- in the Picton Arms in Newport, a rough and ready old fashioned boozer just outside the city centre, with a guy from Yemen. He was born in Cardiff, brought up in Yemen, and lived in the Midlands and north of England. Now most people from Cardiff, me included, hated Naseem Ahmed after he outclassed Steve Robinson, but showed absolutely no respect for him. He said Naseem was a nice guy. He said he asked Naseem why he was so obnoxious in the ring, and Naseem said his promotors told him to be. Outside the ring he was a likeable guy, and helped the Yemenite community in Sheffield. A different side to Hamed.
Tell that to Brendan Ingle, Jonny Nelson or anyone else who helped him get to the top. This is, of course, given that we're talking about the same Nazim Ahmed.
Brendan Ingle said some foul stuff about him in a book while they were still together, I'd hate him for that too. Johnny Nelson comes across as a *****, Just watch any Sky Sports Boxing show he's on. And lets not even go into the De Leon fight, how he can dare show that ugly face of his after that, i will never know. But the prince was a bit of a obnoxious *****, he was well known for being extremely generous one second, to starting an argument inside an empty house the next. Go figure.
pfffffft You must be having a giraffe. Im from the same area as naz and he is well known to be a complete **** in and out of the ring. I remember when naz and his brothers would go to the swallow hotel and throw their weight around to the staff. Grade 1 ****s.
Just look at Hameds motoring record and you can see how much of a **** he is. Naseem Hamed - Extreamly talented, very exciting to watch, and a total ****!
Ooops, love boxing, hate spelling. Naseem Hamed, as Paul Simon might say, "Still controversial after all these years."
I can't profess to have lived near him or known him intimately but I could sense he was a **** from a few thousand miles away. That's quite a distance for a man of his slight stature.
ahmed was great but yeah he was an arrogant *****, i never liked jonny nulson or ryan streets i mean roads either and junior wetter is arrogant too must be that whole winkybank gym
