I just re watched it and you're right. I had it 7-5 for Cuadras. This fight reminded me a lot of Hagler-Leonard, Hagler (chocolitito) being the aggressor, leonard (cuadras) moving and landing with quick combinations.. it was a great fight, and Cuadras deserves an immediate rematch!!

2016 has given us great, great boxing matches, and there's more to look foward to.

Now if Hi-Tek-Homo could just try to watch it with a clear unbiased head.....but for some reason I doubt that'll ever happen.

The facial damage was indeed because of sharp punches by Cuadras, but the misconception is that it was a sign of Gonzalez getting tattooed. Roman threw more and landed at a higher connect percentage - something which becomes apparent when you focus on the exchanges.

You guys looked at Chocolatito's face and say he lost. Round by round Choco won more rounds based on activity. That's why he won a UD.

Yes I do and I know the real meaning of it, you don't

You do know that p4p means who is the best of any weight class?

so technically if everyone was the same weight had the same reach height etc, who would win!

that's p4p and if that's the case roman gonzalez you could barely put him top 10 p4p, rigondeaux would demolish him, he's a fan friendly fighter but not the most talented or skilled, he'd got outboxed by caudras a crude mexican fighter

It was a UD. They saw the bigger man running, and not throwing enough punches early in the fight.

Don't be silly. Inoue is bigger and a lot stronger than Cuadras. At the moment I'm favoring Inoue to beat Gonzalez. Inoue is the same size as Guillermo Rigondeaux and might wind up at super bantamweight like him.

The fight reminded me in a lot of ways of Leonard vs Hagler as well. Cuadras coming on after round seven reminded me of how Hagler lost despite being the bigger stronger man by starting slow and giving up too many of the early rounds. By the time Cuadras got going he'd already lost too many rounds to win without knockdowns. Also, Leonard's flurries were pitter patter and ineffective, just like Cuadras'. They looked good the first time I watched, but the second I could clearly see them hitting air, gloves, and arms while Gonzalez landed the cleaner sharper punches. So all of that motion was just cosmetic, the difference between aggression and Chocolatito's effective aggression. Now, rounds 8-12 Cuadras clearly had the better of things. Gonzalez was gassing, slowing down, and Cuadras was fresher and faster. But like I said, by then he had already lost too many rounds.

The story of the fight was that it was closely contested and competitive, but that Gonzalez took the majority of the first two thirds and Cuadras took the last third. Yes, Cuadras finished stronger, but that doesn't eliminate the first two thirds of the fight when Gonzalez did the better work.

I disagree. Those earlier rounds were easily disputed. Cuadras made Gonzalez miss a lot, and wasn't given credit for his effective defense.
