I was never a champion, but i had to be kod to lose at my best..I outboxed the best boxers of my class, but I only lost to the best punchers of my time. i could do everything but had a glass jaw... Who was i ?
Hi Burt... when you say that "I had to be kod to lose at my best", am I correct in assuming, that we're talking about a man who was actually outpointed several times early in his career - but not a single time in his last 80+ fights over a period of a dozen or so years?
a F you outboxed me...Yes it was tippy Larkin who i saw at his best... Larkin won almost every fight he fought by decision...he virtually shut out the great boxer Billy Graham in 10 rounds. He beat a great boxer Willie Joyce twice...Joyce outboxed ike williams two times...Larkin was a great boxer/puncher who had a "glass jaw". Tippy was kod by Bummy davis, lew jenkins, Beau Jack[i saw that one], Ike Williams etc..If Larkin had a good chin, hev would be an alltime great lightweight, no doubt....
