I hate Calzaghe, but he would beat today's Ward easy!!!

LOL, Except for a prime Jones, Ward is better than anyone Calzaghe has ever fought, including Eubanks, Lacy, and Veit.

Also, it is note worthy to see that Ward hasn't yet peaked, yet unlike Prime Calzaghe he isn't satisfied hiding behind his management fighting bums and "B" level opposition like Calzaghe did for 90% of his career.

Ward is Bernard Hopkins without the KO power BHOP had when he was younger. He would whup poor Joe's scared ass even in his prime.
Plus Ward throws well placed beautiful punches and not those girly slaps that land laces on the face like Calslappy. Joe is a pretend fighter while Ward is the real deal.

 

Ward is garbage. He's a head-butting disgrace who has had home town fights against a shot, poorly conditioned Kessler, and the disgraceful journeyman bum Allan Green. Then there is his laboured UD over Glass Jaw Miranda. :roflatsch

His fights are boring trash and he is a religious zealot weirdo space cadet.

King Arthur Abraham will take his head off should they meet and end this hype-train once and for all. It's irrefutable.

Said before Ward has even proved himself, and coming off a win over a nobody. But this B level opposition you name dosent sound right, if you look at the Ring annual ratings 1998 it tells a different story

Liles got KOd by Mitchell who Calzaghe beat, Joe beat Woodhall, Ottke wouldnt fight him, Joe beat Brewer, had already beaten Reid and Tate pulled out of a fight with Calzaghe and retired (Idea taken from ESB user Cobbler)

So thats hardly hiding fighting bums

I know how you feel. The Super 6 is a great competition but because its so well advertised people think its the be all and end all off the SMW division. Just ignorance on alot of people parts, fighters like Veit have had a better career than what the great A Dirrells had but because hes not a recognised name etc....

 

Look at your 1998 list ......

1. Liles
2. Calzaghe
3. Woodhall 2000 -Lost to Beyer in '99, Calzaghe in '00 and promptly retired
4. Ottke -ducked JC shamlessly. A punchline.
5. Brewer 2002 - had lost 3 of 8 leading up to JC.
6. Reid 1999- Lost to Malinga in '97, Calzaghe '99 and Branco '00. 3 out of 4 fights from '97-'00.
7. Tate

Plus, did you notice Calzaghe didn't actually fight any of these guys in 1998. Instead fought 38 year old JCG Ferreyra and Branko Sobot (who had already lost to one Haci Cherifi) who then proceeded to lose..... get this...... 10 out of his next 15. Then came Reid(see above)After that it was Thornberry and then Sheika or Starie.
