But this fight is a mismatch. Mayweather has every advantage. I dont know how anybody believes Hatton is going to win.
You forgot the crowd support. Floyd will poo himself when he hears the cheers when Ricky enters the ring and the deafening boos when he comes in.
Arrogance wasn't Roy's demise - it was a Left Hand by Shitty Tarver. Roy was arrogant for a might long time before he lost. Mayweather has shown the same arrogance in most of his fights - but has yet to lose. So - when and if he does manage to lose before he retires - will it be because of his arrogance or because the man that beat him was better than him? You be the judge.
Ummm, didn't Floyd not long ago face a fighter who had massive support, in Osca De La Hoya, ..but your the Stan of Boxing so wouldn't even know who the Golden Boy isatsch
Just like he did in the Oscar fight right?:-( There were way more Oscar fans at that fight than there will be Hatton fans at this one.
Mismatch is an ugly word, and I don't believe it is the correct word to use here. Rick's an accomplished fighter and is qualified for a shot at the best fighter in the world. I hate Mayweather too, and I also think Ricks going to lose. But if we only matched Third World Floyd against guys who we knew would beat him...well thats a very short list indeed. Anyway, things happen sometimes, I remember no one thought Ali would beat Foreman, and there was no reason to believe he would. Rick will never beat him sitting home thinking "oh gee, I'll never beat Floyd". He deserves the chance, and you can't win it, if you ain't in it.
I think the negativity from the crowd actually drives Floyd. He anticipates it. It gives him a chip on his shoulder.
Weeks ago I thought this fight was going to be easy for Mayweather. But, as the day becomes closer, I think it will be a tough fight for him.
I actually think his arrogance makes him such a hungry fighter. The guy has spent so much time telling people how good he is, that it makes him work that much harder. In this fight, failure is not an option for Floyd. If Ricky loses, it's no big deal, he was supposed to lose. If Floyd loses...well let's just say if Floyd thought it was hard convincing people that he's the best fighter of all time before this fight, it will be impossible to convince anyone of this if he loses. Someone else mentioned passion. Personally, I haven't seen anything from either fighter that has shown that either one is hungrier or more passionate than the other. If someone has seen something to the contrary, please share.
