I hate saying this, but Spence might be better than young The Best Ever.

    Those skills are sublime.

Maybe I'm being caught in the prisoner of the moment. But damn, you just gotta love what he did to Algieri.

Maybe I'll change my mind after I review some Young TBE footage.

No, don't doubt yourself or bother reviewing old footage. Go with your instincts on this one.

No way man. The most you could argue is that he is more potent offensively but I'm not sure that is even a slam dunk argument. Spence is 20-0 (17), four years removed from his appearance in the Olympics, and his greatest opposition has been a couple of decent white boys named Chris, both with feathers in their fists. Mayweather at the same point in his career was 20-0 (15) (and got there a year faster than Spence, under three years removed from getting robbed in Atlanta for bronze) and had stopped Manfredy and Chicanito.

    So, :nono

How the FUCK did I end up on the pro-Mayweather side of a debate with MVC! of all people?

Anyway, yeah, pretty obvious for the reasons above (not to mention, you know, just watching footage of either. One has quite a bit of talent & skill, the other a great deal more...) that PBF >>> Truth.

I'd give Spence a slight edge in body punching, but even there, people forget May used to incorporate a lot more of that (not just the nudge-off belly-jab) and was pretty damn good at it himself.

He reminds me of young Floyd, I mean the Floyd from ESPN days.

Though Spence isn't as talented as Floyd, just not in the same league as an athlete or even in terms of skill. He's like a poor man's version of young Floyd which isn't necessarily a negative considering just how talented Floyd is.

Not really even that Floyd was a patient counter puncher who exploited his opponents mistakes, Mayweather and Spence are nothing alike, Spence is an aggressive come forward destroyer, something Floyd never was, it only seems like he was when he was younger because he got more KO's due to the fact that his hands weren't as brittle and he had more power in the lower weight classes.

    Mayweather >>>> Spence >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Broner.

    Similarly,

Toney >>>>>>> Lawrence Clay Bey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Broner.

Nah, I mean the young-young Floyd on his professional start (like literally first 5-10 fights).

Sorry but he is miles behind Floyd in skill. And I think Spence has a lot of potential so it's not an indictment of his ability because damn near everyone in boxing history is miles behind Floyd in skill. Spence certainly has the ability to be pound-for-pound number 1 at some point. Young Floyd picks him a part though.

I am too, he was a tad bit more aggressive and tried to walk guys down a little more often, but he was still defense first and never took any unnecessary risks, stylewise they're just not that similar. Even that version of Floyd.

Yeah, difference between someone talented enough to maybe emerge as the best of his generation (time will tell) and someone talented enough to only come along once a lifetime and transcend generations. :good

Yeah but it's not like Errol's some caveman either, he fights a controlled come forward counter game, obviously he's not tit for the tat the same, he's not as talented for one and everyone's got their own style but they have a similar method for sure.
