He's a tough match up for anyone as a HW...but I would've Ali over him. Possibly Foreman even. I think he beats Holy and Tyson easily.

If Lewis' history of underrating his opponents (more importantly their power) comes into consideration, a guy like Shavers is a possibility as well. Not that Shavers is ANYWHERE near as good as Lennox...but if Lennox showed up in the style he did for Rahman...Shavers' one hit power could've done Lennox in.

Try to use a bit of logic here. Lennox would have shown a lot more respect and preparation for Tyson.

We all know how good he was when threatened.

Good point. Ike Ibeabuchi beat a prime David Tua and Chris Byrd. But for him being sent down for Kidnap and Assault there's little doubt The President would have been in the World Title mix.

I wouldn't go so far to say a prime Lewis would beat any HW ranked above him in a head-2-head match-up, but I do feel head-2-head, a peak Lennox is right up there.

It use to hurt me to admit to this, but this is my honest view on the matter. Lennox may not have been to everyone's liking when he was boxing, but in hindsight, you can't but respect what he achieved in the ring.

Lennox was very, very strong, had a solid jab, massive right hand, good uppercut, etc. There was always a quextion mark over his chin. He was knocked out by McCall & Rahman, but avenged both defeats. He fought all comers apart from Bowe, wihhc may or may not have been down to Lewis.

I still maintain to this day that a peak Tyson would have beaten Lewis, but they, Tyson was way past it when they fought & Lewis won. I desperately wanted Tyson to beat Lewis, but if I'm honest, knew it wasn't going to happen. Tyson was not the same, Lewis was at the top of his game.

My respect for Lewis has grown over the years. He had a very successful boxing career, earned millions upon millions of pounds, remained a private person when not boxing & looked after himself.

One thing I admire is that Lennox retired & has stayed retired. No comebacks, depite the rumours that have circulated.

H-2-H, Lennox is right up there. I think only Tyson, Ali & Homes would have beaten him. That's just my opinion on it. People willl either agree or disagree, but hey, that's what debates are all about.

I would favor Lewis in a head to head matchup against any former champions. That doesn't mean he wins all of them but I'd certainly tilt the odds in his favor against any of them.

Your right, my bad they probably could have edged by Marvin Hart, and maybe Tommy Burns. Plus they are probably two of most exciting fighters ever!!

Im one of those who believe that a prime Mike Tyson is the best HW h2h in history.

I mean - the speed, movement, combinations, defence and power that the prime Tyson had, still is the by far best and most impressive thing I ever saw at HW.

Lennox would be caught by a prime Tyson. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind. A prime Tyson had great stamina as well.
