I hate to admit it but a prime Lennox Lewis...

id say 60s ali is tops. lewis h2h is near the top of the list too. i think ali's movement and chin are the biggest factors.

sam peter has to be top 5 h2h too.

Lewis is not even top ten all time. If Oliver McCall had not broke down crying during rematch, we would not even be discussing Lewis. Except maybe in 'worst champs of all time" thread.

 

I consider Tyson an all time top 5 heavy, but consider Leewis a farce. It's not about eras, it's about the fighters.

 

I don't favour anybody over Lewis h2h, I'd put my money on him everytime if forced to

However, best chances would be Holmes who could arguably match his jab and outpoint him, or Tyson who was just a freak. His bob and weeve could get him inside the Lewis jab and a stoppage is possible

I don't have the same faith in Ali as some in this matchup

 

i think Tyson's repeatedly proven issues in the clinch show me what i need to know about a Tyson Lewis prime matchup. on the other hand Tyson could have landed a bomb and possibly ended it but i doubt it. while Ali is by far my fav heavyweight and i think the greatestest of all time. Lewis is all wrong for him. Ali had a problem with people who could jab back at him and lewis' jab was outstanding. Ali's best chance is letting Lewis try to unload on him while flurrying in spots to slow lewis down.

 

I think Lewis is great but Vitali Klitschko had him seriously worried until the cut from a headbutt and wouldn't rematch.

Thats no shame though Vitali is a superior boxer to Wlad.

Prime Tyson V Lewis? Lewis more then possibly gets Ko'ed; or equally manages a points Victory.

Not with those shaky whiskers, he wouldn't! If mediocre fighters like McCall and Rahman could knock him out, quite a few of the ATGs would too.

Comical. How is Lewis anything but a superb, dominant champion, and one of the very greatest HW's of all time?

 

McCall and Rahman were not bums, by any strstch of the imagination. And he avenged both losses in style, his KO of Rahman is one of the most spectacular ever.

This is an argument which has being going for ages anyway, and the consensus is Lewis is easily top 10 HW of all time, if not a lot higher.

 

How anyone could favour Ali, Liston or Louis over a prime Lewis is totally beyond me. Probably 3 of the EASIEST style match ups for Lewis. What the f*ck were they going to do.... Out jab him
