One's a world class boxer/puncher. The other is Margarito.

 

Margarito would be taller, but certainly not thicker or stronger, and he would be fighting a much better, much faster, much more talented fighter than himself, and he would get beaten, comprehensively, again, like he has plenty of times before, dont give a **** how "tough" he is, he wouldn't be good enough to beat Alvarez

Who is the bigger man here? The welterweight or the heavyweight?

The difference here is the reaching, slow punches Margarito will be missing with vs. the sharp, fast punches that Margarito will be right there for.

This is a big welterweight who used his size and chin trying to impose his size on a much larger man who can punch a lot harder and faster than him. I don't think Canelo has time to gas. He's certainly not going to be winging big punches and missing, like he did against Trout.

 

Just imagine seeing Canelo vs Cotto, we'd be watching paint dry after round 6 as they both would have gassed out.

 

Margo was never as affective at 154 so i don't think he takes this one.

I agree that Margo's style is a nightmare for fighters of alvarez style byt i think the size differanec will be the differance.

 

Margo eats him for breakfest.

Canelo does not have the footwork to avoid Margarito, nor the stamina do out-punch him, nor the punching power to keep him at bay.

 

Alvarez would beat the **** out of any version of Margarito, he hits harder than prime Mosley and is more skilled, bigger and more durable than Cotto

 

Prime Margo eats his lunch. Canelo probably has the power to hurt him, but he hasn't shown the consistency/and stamina to stop him. Margarito beats him down to submission.

Yeah he hasn't beaten a single elite jr middleweight. If Canelo boxes and moves and goes to the body, he can outpoint Margarito pretty clearly.
