He just turned 32 years old. Not old, in his prime for sure, BUT, the end of his prime is coming to an end rather soon. This info caught me off guard as I assumed Crawford was in his later 20s still.
Spence is not a young pup either but he has a 3 year age advantage.
Crawford wants Spence as do all the boxing fans with exception of the PBC cult followers.

No matter what some say, 35 is not the new 30. 35 is 35. The vast majority of boxers are in physical decline by then.
Of course, part of the blame lies with Crawford as he chose to re-sign with Top Rank knowing that all the top names and competition were with PBC. He probably thought he was going to get the Manny Pacquaio scalp. Who would have thought a few years ago that the Esteemed Senator would be fighting AND beating Thurman!! LOL.
Anyways, it is a near certainty this fight wont be happening in the next 12 months. I hope we do see this fight while Crawford is in his prime.

Everything you have said related to age is correct.

Physical prime ends around 32 years old. After this you are simply not prime anymore and there are lots of things that go down-hill after this:

Ability to fight for 3 full minutes for 12 rounds.
Ability to take a chin shot
    Stamina and endurance
    Speed
Ability to throw fast combinations or even punch in combinations exceeding 3 punches

Probably some other things too but I am to busy to list them all.

It really pains me to see potential great boxers leaving it too late to build great resumes (Crawford, Spence and a whole list of other active boxers). These guys should be much more active than the current industry standard.

wow didn't realise he was 32?With his style he's taken little punishment and is the closest thing to Floyd imo.
Also had no idea he'd left Top Rank and Bob Arum, bad move as PBC fighters are so inactive.
Spence and Crawford need each other imo and fast.

I always thought and still believe Spence beats Crawford but he’s definitely let him age a little more before fighting him.. Nothing new about this Canelo did a similar thing to GGG before he stepped in the ring with him the first time.. Same as Gervonta David taking a similar approach with Loma

Yeah. It's around 32. There is some variability to it due to the genetic lottery and environment but it's around then.

At that level of boxing, little things mean a lot. A slight loss of reflexes or a little bit less bounce in the legs is the difference between getting hit and avoiding the shot.

I dont buy that 35 is the new 22 thing. Not realistic. Sports science has improved but the human body hasn't.

Ah ok sorry I read it wrong.Would of been better with Hearn imo who would get him active and try and raise his profile as he should be a boxing star with his talent.

Nobody wants to take a loss but realistically Bud and Spence could follow Mannys lead and fight each other A few times as the fans understand that 50/50 fights deliver and respect it and in the process it would or could make em stars.

Perhaps Spence is waiting until Crawford slows down a bit, that 3 year age difference could mean a lot in a few years.

Neither has a win over a top opponent. They need to fight each other.

Crawford said after he beat Gamboa that he wants Pacquiao, and Spence said the same thing after he beat Porter. So why don't they both fight each other first then the winner will fight Pacquiao next? At the end we will have the Undisputed World Welterweight Champion. How does it sound?
