The European Union, who's just an American branch in Europe try to seduce the Ukrainians into the Union by using Vitali's figure.

At least when he's boxing, he's not doing politics. Ukraine needs to stay out of this, they're better off with their natural allies.

And for the last time, he's had long enough. He started talking about retirement after the Charr fight, he's not fought in well over a year, he put off accepting Stiverne's purse bid three times before pulling out with injury and got it postponed, he had a set date to make his decision which he announced only to miss it anyway and get it put back again.

The WBC have bent over backwards to accommodate him at every point and we as fans have been more than patient with him. He has no excuse whatsoever for putting this off any longer. Being heavily involved in politics is more a reason to give up the title than to justify holding onto it.

And he clearly doesn't have the passion for boxing anymore. If he did he would have fought sometime in the last 15 months instead of spending all that time playing politics in Ukraine, flirting with retirement and avoiding fighting his mandatory.

its not a great statement on a country if you require an exboxer to sort it out politically. this is not a valid excuse for vitali running.

    He's not avoiding anything.

Once again, the horrendous state Ukraine is in is the reason why Vitali has put off boxing for as long as he did.

And it's good reason for WBC to give him extended time to get his priorities straight.

He will make his decision in 8 days, give the man his time.

I'm starting to believe that it's a discriminatory thing. If it was an American fighter, people would be giving him a pass. But since he's an Ukrainian, he's going to get every critic on his behind.

WBC knows the truth and the WBC has given him until the 15th. Give it time.

He will give us a an answer.

There is absolutely no point of holding on to your title if he doesn't want to defend it. The man still has great passion for boxing and will probably defend it against Stiverne when the time is right. On the 15th, all questions will be answered.

Oh the "if he was an American..." whining bull**** from you Klitschko fanboys is absurb. It's a crock of **** and you know it. If he was Muhammed Ali I'd be giving him the same grief.

Being heavilly involved in politics is not an excuse to cling onto the title. If politics is taking up so much of his time that he cannot find the room in his schedule to have one fight in 15 or so months then even if he wanted to fight - which I sincerly doubt - he clearly does not have the time to do so and should act in a manner befitting a great champion and sportsman and relinquish the title he has no time to defend so that he is not holding up the rest of the division.

All it would take would be to send Title to the WBC by courier with a note saying "regretably the political situation in my country makes it impossible for me to defend my title at this time therefore I am relinquishing it so I can focus on events here" and everything would be settled. Nobody would hold it against him, nobody would complain about him being selfish and holding the rest of the division to ransom, he would move on without officially retiring into politics, leaving the door open for a return to boxing if he truly wishes to fight on in the future while allowing the WBC's heavyweight scene to be brought back to life again. It would be a suitable outcome for all parties.

Instead all Vitali has done it put off his responsibilities as WBC champion. And, again, incase I haven't made this clear enough already, if his work in real-life politics in Ukraine is getting in the way of him fulfilling his responsibility as WBC Champion then he shouldn't be WBC Champion.

Good shuts to him. He shouldn't get in the Hall of Fame for shamelessly ducking David Haye.

Vitali has never ducked Haye, as a matter of fact, Haye kept postponing fights with Vlad and Vitali for a long time. Haye broke a signed contract with Vlad and Haye also broke an implied contract with Vitali. They don't have time to wait on Haye................Vlad took care of Haye easily, Haye was a coward................Vitali has the best chin, also defense in boxing, he has absolutely nothing to fear from Haye...............

I noticed Vitali at ringside for the K-2 card yesterday, but still no announcement.

He's going to leave the WBC with no choice but to strip him, they gave him until today.

Anyone heard anything from Vitali yet? Given that its now gone midnight in Europe on the 15th of December and he's supposed to have made a statement by now I would hope somebody somewhere's got some news. The deadline has passed.
