Let's be clear here, even if the injury somehow wouldn't be legit, how can you blame Usyk for this?!

Can you imagine you signed up for a middleweight tournament and then when progressing to the final they change the rules on you, having to fight Canelo in Vegas, with Lawrence Cole as the referee and Ross, Byrd and Moretti as the judges, cause that's about the equivalent here.
He's never going to get the decision if he fights in Russia, and everyone and their dog knows that.
If the shoe was on the other foot, we'd get the same issue... Imagine Gassiev having to fight Usyk in Kiev.

Even if he got robbed in Russia the fans will know who won. Kovalev got robbed in Oakland. GGG got robbed in Vegas. Marquez got robbed in Indonesia. Murray got robbed in Argentina.

This whole getting robbed thing happens in your opponents backyard. If you dont beat the tar out of your opponent you're probably not getting the decision in his backyard. It happens all the time.

But life is not fair. It happens.

And in addition, Usyk is unlikely to find a bigger payday than Gassiev.

Gassiev destroys Wilder. Gassiev is a monster. The way he comes with the left hook. When he lands his hook on Wilder it's over. You know that.

Usyk is a much tougher fight for Gassiev than Wilder is.

We need a neutral venue. I'd like to nominate Gary, Indiana.

Fans would know, but also many would deny that ever happened.
And then there's the huge income loss, and history that eventually goes with the numbers instead of what really happened.
Kovalev's career still hasn't recovered from the robbery.
And let's take a guy on his list that he beat, but was dismissed by most of the fans, Gabriel Campillo. He should have been the current WBA/IBF unified champion when they met, but was seen as a good but nothing special opponent.
Murray gets seen as a always come up short contender instead of the former undefeated WBC, Ring and "lineal" 160 champ.
    Others...
Remember Axel Schultz? No? He should have been a 2 time Heavyweight champ if he didn't get robbed all the time.
Norton? 3 wins against Ali, or at least 2 wins and a draw... Ali himself said he couldn't beat him, but the judges did it for him.
Did he ever get recognition for that?
But the final shouldn't be in ANYONE's backyard, that's not what they signed up for.
And it's not about the big payday, it's about follow up paydays which can drastically change between winning or losing.
