While I believe Carl Froch to be a tuff cookie and in great shape, he is crude and a wee bit stiff in his movement.... Froch can be out-boxed by a slickster or cutie with some endurance and power....... Froch is basically getting by on toughness and stamina... His skills are average at best....... MR.BILL
this is unfair to dirrell. yes he bottled the Froch fight through running and holding but he was fighting an exciting fight with AA where he was often pushing the action. Maybe this John Q fella you are talking about won't give Dirrell credit for beating AA silly because AA acted like a child and hit Dirrell while he was down, but Dirrell won me over.
I'd love to see a rematch, yes. With or without a rematch, AA is gonna win the whole ball of wax. :good
Abe knew the guy was on his knees and knew the punch would be illegal. I dont think he was aware it would result in a straight DQ though. Dem da rules though. Abe was improving, direll was tiring fast and a late stoppage for Abe looked possible but he got impetuous. Credit to Dirrell for frustrating him to that point.
I don't believe it was intentional either. Too quick. I don't think Abraham realized Dirrel was slipping, he hit him just this moment. And the right hand comes very quickly. Way too quickly to be associated with any sort of reasoning. Not frustration, not spite. Just instinct. Dirrel was ducking a lot of the very same right hands earlier in the fight, I honestly believe Abraham thought he ducking again. I still think it was lucky for Abraham. He wouldn't have KO'ed Dirrel. Dirrel would've won a convincing UD with nothing to write home about and now Abraham has this controversy thing going and you just know that in a couple of months they're gonna pretend like it was a robbery. The doctor's treatment in the 9th round was weird indeed. First of all, the ref broke them up when Abraham had Dirrel in the corner. Then, for some reason, he believed the gash was caused by a headbutt. And then the doc applied pressure to the wound for what seemed like ages. Weird indeed. None of this should distract from the simple truth that Dirrel won the fight convincingly and that Abraham's "style" has finally proven inadequate for the elite level. He said himself in an interview: "I wait for 6 rounds and then I go for the KO." Super!
Too quick? You may want to look at it again. Abraham's left followed Dirrell's sliding body to the ground. Then he resets his feet and uloads the "vicious" right. He knew exactly what he was doing. He just forgot he wasn't in GERMANY. :bbb This content is protected
I still feel it was too quick...... Abe was on Dirrell like stink on ****.... Abe had momentum raging hard when he fouled out in the 11th stanza....... Abe was clearly behind on points, but he was slowly turning the tide on Dirrell........ Still, 12 rds was not enough time for Abe to benefit from.... He really needed 15 from the golden ages of boxing...... Oh, well......... Too bad........... REMATCH!!! MR.BILL
Froch, Abe and Dirrell are almost at the point to where they can "Screw Off" this tournament bull**** if they want to........... Either way you stage a rematch fight involving Dirrell against Froch or Abe, it'll now sell in a major city and Cable will buy into it......... Money talks; Bull**** walks.......... MR.BILL
Yea, he was so confident that he decided to take a cheap shot at a guy who was sitting on the ground. He could totally have knocked him out on his feet, he just wanted to do something more memorable.
I've still seen worse blatant fouls before.............. "Molinares-Starling" and "Tua-Rahman 1" come to mind......... Neither culprit "Molinares-Tua" were nailed for their acts of foulness........ What about Holy and his use of his friggin' bald head in NUMEROUS encounters, and he has never been DQ'd....... The hell? Again, for the umpteenth time, Cooney unloaded wicked shots on a dazed and confused Norton at MSG in 1981.... No DQ there....... Bowe hitting Mathis while he was down in 1994........ No DQ!! **** me off...... MR.BILL
