I have a massive amount of respect for Naazin Richardson, but.....

It seemed to me everything he was sayin in the lead up to the fight was shallow.

It is his job to get Shane in shape, he was gassed after three rounds. That to me seems a bit ridiculous.

Obviously Brother Naz is boxing though and through, We know he didn't underestimate Floyd, so he jus presumed if Shane turned up in the condition he was in the fight against margorito he'd be ok???

Surely in Big Bear he would of witnessed first-hand Shane wasn't there?

How was he doing in sparring? I'm sure the cracks must of been showing in Mosley's armoury. Was he sparring Bums? Or Richardson's Sons?

I remember Freddie Roach saying he learned the hard way with Virgil Hill, he got to close to him and in the end Virgil didn't respect is authority.

I remember the rumour around a few weeks ago coming from the Mayweather camp that Mosley was getting his ass handed to him, but just took that as usual pre-fight banter. Was it true??

I love Floyd and it was undoubtedly a fantastic performance and maybe Floyd would of beaten Shane like that ten years ago anyway. But come on your a prizefighter, arrive to the fight in good condition.

Shane came into the ring as the best he could be at his age.

    Naz can't work miracles.

Shane wasn't fully gassed by round 3. By round 5 or 6, maybe, but not round 3.

Sister Nazim was shown as a cowboy trainer, living off Hops natrual ability, he is a joke and has no place training boxers of B level up.

You're missing the obvious explanation that his conditioning was fine, he simply took himself out of the fight very early on mentally, and never got back in it. He threw more punches in the last six rounds than the first six. He was up on his toes moving the whole time.

But he was tense, jittery, didn't listen to his corner, and didn't fight a smart fight. Do you honestly think he didn't do 3 rounds of sparring in the gym? Do you honestly think he was getting worn out after six minutes in training and yet no one heard anything about it?

Shane will be back against a more limited fighter, he will look good again, and people will find some other reason to discount this fight.

Im not trying to discount it at all, far from it. Floyd would probably have done the same thing years ago. but shane was blowing heavily in round three and four. Emmanuel Steward said he looked soft in the locker room. He has been watching Shane fight all his career, if he said he looked soft he is probably right.

His conditioning coach, not Naazim, is resposbile for his conditioning. If Shane Mosley "gassed" like some of you idiots keep saying he would have been knocked out in this fight, he wasn't despite taking big shots.

Shane didn't tire after 2 rounds, he just showed his age, nothing Nazim could do with a 38 yr old WW trying to beat the best P4P fighter in the world. Mayweather is a great fighter who is just slightly past his prime. Mosley was a great fighter way past his prime and probably shot. The one thing I will question though is the decision not to go with the Reyes Gloves.

He most likely had a massive adrenaline rush when he landed those big blows on mayweather. Which in turn can drain you physically. that's what I feel most likely is the cause.

You can't make a speedy fighter quick again at 38 years old. It's just not how it works.

i think SSM will take that fight w/ berto now and win BIG. he can KO berto easily and that will set him up for one more big fight, say with PWILL. that fight will be 2 close to call, but i think will be his last.

I agree that Mosley should take the fight with Berto but really that should be his last in my opinion unless he can get a Cotto rematch. I DO NOT want to see him in there with Paul Williams. He looked tiny in their with Forrest and Wright, he's gonna look even smaller against Williams, and I honestly don't see that fight ending well for him.

I think they trained only for a knockout ...which is how Tyson started training after Buster beat him.....you have to go those extra miles or it will show.

Mosley punched him in the mouth but didn't have an answer when Floyd sproated wings (used constant aggression backing Shane down) and couldn't avoid the fireballs (jabs but really the straights).

Pretty much dead on. The thread starter makes some good points, but as far as this particular topic goes....Shane was more confused as opposed to gassed, though still nowhere near the shape Floyd was in.

A few are already discounting this fight due to Shane's age. Damn shame.
