I have a sneaky feeling that Brook may be the better boxer and outbox GGG

It seems unlikely but you never know.

Maybe moving up in weight will really work well for Brook and take him up to another level. It's true that he isn't that small so maybe Kell will be strong and powerful at 160. Maybe he'll be able to use his jab and time Golovkin coming in and hit him with quality punches. I hope so, it would make an amazing story.

Why are you talking like Brook has a glass jaw? He's never even been down.

And Brook has serious power. The only people he didn't knock out havent been knocked out by anyone. At 160lb he'll have even more power.

    This will be close.

I never implied he had a glass jaw... he's got good power, but this is not a welterweight he's fighting.

not a big size difference like mayweather had over marquez

Golovkin and brook seem to be the same size

Lol to the naked eye, but they're not. In fact, not even to the naked eye. Looking at pics, golovkin is clearly bigger.

I hope so, I'm kind of rooting for him in this one. I agree he does a very good job at making sure he doesn't get hit flush over and over again and he also does a good job with rolling with shots. How he was able to nullify Porter in the manner he did was kind of remarkable to watch unfold.

I don't know how successful he'll be against a monster like Golovkin though. While Gennady doesn't have the fastest hands, he does have terrific punch placement ability. I'm very curious to see how Kell would hold up to overhand shots hitting him flush. Forget power punches, I want to see how well he takes a straight shot/jab from GGG.

I agree with the body shots too. The guy has paralyzed full sized MW's with his body punching ability. The problem is for Brook he's taking on a very skilled fighter whose probably seen every style there is to see given his lengthy amateur background. Than you factor in that GGG hits like a powerful LHW, and I just don't see Brook getting past the 6th round.

I hate to say it, but Brook can lose a few years of his boxing career in this matchup. Golovkin is a monster.

If Kell were a JMW struggling to make weight, I may agree with you. The fact is, he is a big WW that has made weight consistently when called to do so. He's not been in with any monster JMW's or any MW's at all. He's cannon fodder as soon as he stops moving.

Said it before , its not just the weight , its the fact he moves up 2 weight classes to fight the best MW , Brook was never in a fight with a MW let a lone a savage hitter , he was never in a fight in which he wasnt massive vs his oppoent and he never fought with this much weight on his body , i believe those 3 below will be his downfall :
    * never been in a fight with MW power.
    * fighting style which relies on being the bully due to size will be ineffective.
    * never fought with that much weight on his body.

Its boxing and everything can happen , but i wouldve taken a tuneup first vs a legit MW to get the feel on all 3 things i said above.....
this is a missmatch and brook is going down inside 7.

Same can be said of Brook...hasn't fought anyone w/ 3G's skill and ring IQ. Not to mention the size difference.

Interesting fight to say the least. But if Brook makes it to the final bell, that's a moral victory in my book.

Indeed, going 12 rds with GGG even if Brook loses it's almost like a win, Brook's stocks would go up.

If that were the case, his stock should. But no, most here will just say 3G could not KO a WW. that's the board mentality... :-(

    yep, simpleton mentality

GGG could go 12 rounds vs Brook then have a T/KO streak against BJS, Jacobs and Canelo and these sad losers still would say: 'GGG couldn't KO a bloated up welter and he ducked Lara and Ward' :nut:patsch:-((
